Summer Transfer Window 25/26 *Sponsored by Bigpig*

Just a thought could Frimpong be coming in as Salah cover and ultimately replace him when Salah does leave for the Saudi leagues, meaning Bradley remains at RB, maybe with one other coming in?
He'll provide cover for Salah but there's no chance the club see him as somebody that could possibly replace him long term. While his attacking output for a wingback is pretty good, it's a million miles from Salah's or what you'd want from a Salah replacement.

If he signs then he's coming in primarily as a RB, who as a bonus can cover Salah.

Filthy if True.

Has there been any links of Liverpool with Jonathan David? Isnt he available for free this summer? One of the things which made me poo-poo the Wirtz talk was the price, given that we also need a striker and they generally cost a lot, but I suppose with David (who has a good goalscoring record) available for nothing, we could go for him and that would make the purchase price of a new striker zero, which would mean that a huge outlay for new striker wouldnt be of impact to the idea of a huge outlay for Wirtz. Its certainly going to be an exciting transfer window, but I do hope that we get all of our business done early because we will be linked with everyone under the sun this summer

David has been available for years and multiple clubs have wanted strikers. The fact nobody has gone from him suggests to me they're seeing something that puts them off. He'll probably go to Italy, most of the free transfers seem to.

What is the point of having a transfer window when deals are permitted to be negotiated outside of the transfer window?
The window being closed doesn't stop clubs negotiating. The transfer hasn't been rubber stamped. They have just agreed a deal.

Juventus Sell Huijsen for 12-15 mill and then buy Lloyd Kelly on a deal looking to around 20m in one season........

Can't wait for him to defend in PL, great going forward but......
In all seriousness, is it the case that he can't defend, or that he doesn't because he's asked to play an attacking role by the manager? I've never really watched him so have no idea, but interested in comments!

Its the latter, he can defend , he just doesnt in the role he currently plays in. To explain this further, if you compare the stats from the sports reference website of Frimpong for this season and Trent for this season

Percentage of Tackles attempted successfully (per 90mins): Frimpong 55.2% , Trent 46.6%
Number of unsuccessful attempted tackles (per 90mins) : Frimpong 0.51 , Trent 2.13
Number of successful blocked passes (per 90mins) : Frimpong 0.97 , Trent 1.01

So you can see from that , he can tackle and block passes, at least as well as Trent does (and considerably better in how often he succeeds in an attempted tackle) and we've done ok over the years with Trent in regard of winning things. It should be noted though that stat wise, Frimpong has done about half the actual number of tackles than Trent this season but he does play in a different role in the Leverkusen team but when you look at the stats that seems to be a matter of choice rather than inability to defend. I think he might surprise a few foik who view him as just an out and out attacker and on top of that, at 30m , these days its a steal.

I think the other thing with Frimpong and Bradley is their speed of recovery. Trent, if caught out of position (happened often due to his role), didn't have the speed to get back. We've already seen Bradley has good pace and Frimpong even more so, so I'm not unduly worried about either and having both will be good, even playing as a back 3 with Frimpong further up being an option too if injuries or tactics dictated it.
