I don't believe they have gone backwards it's more likely others have moved forward just look at Williams for example.

LH has never been great when he doesn't have a car that is perfect for him it's just that people have forgotten this and look at all his glory of when he had the best.

Leclerc himself we have seen cracks under pressure it would have been interesting to see if Saintz had still been in that car if he would have out performed both.

Ferrari tends to do better in the race anyway if they don't make mistakes in the team so lets see.
They have gone backwards, Leclerc time from the same track last year was faster….

But the FIA have already given the timing data and have basically said that there is a delay from pressing the button for declaring a red flag and the lights showing.
Which means how can they expect teams and drivers to react to or be penalised by a flag that isn't showing?

This was onboard. I don't know whether the back of that panel shows a light at the same time it is shown to the drivers, but it seemed pretty clear cut on the footage they were showing that the board was red before he crossed the line. Unless they were showing the wrong line?

Edit: The Race has a piece on it showing the gantry lights which are apparently the key thing.

Bearman wasn't penalised, his lap wasn't counted. A technical difference, perhaps, from his point of view but it matters in regard to whether he's supposed to have reacted to the flag. In practice, there has to be a delay in the system: messages need to be sent, marshals need to get their flags out, etc.

That Race article clears it up pretty well, I wasn't aware of the orange light rule. But the comparison with Stroll in that article shows it pretty clearly.

TV showed the onboard as well and were adament it should have counted, but they were looking at the timing line and the fact the red panels iluminated after it. But they didnt mention/wasn't aware of the orange light rule. (Probably to the speed/bouncing/blured onboard image)

Can't see the review getting anywhere, the FIA will just say 'Should have checked the orange light rule m8".

Not sure where the excitement can be found in this one bar lots of carnage.

Max needs to get into P1 by T1 and then maybe we get to see Piastri fight him, although its more likely to be follow the leader after T1
