*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

Shame that it doesn't look like Smash Bros will get a Switch 2 update. It would be the perfect game to get higher FPS in.
Yup, there's a whole lot of games that would benefit from similar treatment. Hopefully more will come within the next 6 months, but it's disappointing Nintendo weren't better prepared with back compat features.

When was the last time a console had some kind of backwards compatibility?
Plus the great library of games from previous Nintendo consoles.

I have to say for all the flak that Nintendo have been receiving, a little over £400 for a new gen console today, with a new game, plus the backward compatibility, plus the library of previous Nintendo console games, all in 1 eco system, it cant be that bad.

Im very happy I kept all my Switch games, now they have a new lease of life. Could be worse!

Problem with that sort of game is if you make the old one work too well, you cut into the market of people who you want to buy the replacement :p

PS5, Series X, PS3, PS4, PS2, off the top of my head.

Series X is perhaps the best example, but PS5 runs almost all PS4 games with ease. And sticking with Nintendo, the Wii U played Wii games. So it's not a new thing to have back compat going from generation to generation. I stick with my original comment : love Nintendo, but they've dropped the ball a bit with back compat on Switch 2 .... for now.
