Helldivers 2

you dont have an older processor by any chance do you? i believe after the update your processor needs to support AVX2. my mate has an i7 3770 and it went to fine to buggy after the patch and that is the reason.

personally i accept things move on and new games not running on old hardware is regrettable but understandable.

however bringing in a patch which breaks old processors post release? that is out of order imo given a purchase decision was made on the hardware requirements and any refund windows will have passed.. Fortunately the backlash has been so great that i think that is gonna be patched out again however i suspect this does mean that soon older processors are gonna have games they are unable to play despite being capable from a purely performance point of view.
Its a brand new system built over Christmas.

9800X3D, 32GB of C30 6000mhz ram, Gigabyte Eagle X870 motherboard and a 4070Ti.

I've managed to fix the problem, I had a CO of -30 and a PBO of +200. Once I had disabled PBO the system has been fine, I think maybe a -30 was fine until the game updated which started causing the crashes.

PBO is still disabled and played all weekend without a crash. I'll try with a -20 or -25 and see if that makes any difference.

I have been enjoying this. Its nice to.whip it off your back and KABOOM
because it takes a few seconds to charge normally, when i want to use it i switch to it and immediate press aim and fire and then get the charger etc.. in my sights and it goes off. With it as it is now i'm whipping it out and it's going off straight away.

Seems i jumped back into this at a good time, new update dropped today with weapon progression in the form of customization.
I love the game but always felt lack of progression while playing it.

New Warbond out on the 15th

To be honest its a bit disappointing and does not look too great but I do enjoy watching the warbond videos

A new message from Super Earth and MO!

Somehow the Illuminate returned... (again)... :D

Played against the Illuminate last night on difficulty 8. The new weapon customisation is great, something new to invest some time into as progression, and the ability to tinker guns closer to our preferences on play; and the new illuminate mobs are interesting. The bomber is fragile but does a very good job of decimating you if it catches you unaware for any reason, and the fleshmob is a decent tank. Looking forward to seeing what the Urban warfare promised on Super Earth looks like!
Would really also love to see some space combat of some kind, boarding the illuminate ships or the like, the new Illuminate mass fleet invasion certainly gives us new potential if they decide to go there.

Thankfully, my boy, the Eruptor handles the fleshmobs nicely, and Im looking forward to maxing that out first.

Hopefully they bring customisation to the secondaries etc soon, but its a step in the right direction towards more versatility, and customisation to our individual playstyles. More of this please.

PPS. Love the footnotes they put in the videos haha
"Purple beam of destruction representative of suspected Illuminate path. Actual path may vary." :D

Definately leans to the old sarcastic humour this game's narrative demonstrates when at it's best.

jesus! tried this new update last night
in principle I like the gun modding and new bad guys are always good ..however. ... is it bugged or is it just really hard now?

we tried our 1st on on ..... which ever is the easiest to get super rares on that we normally play (extreme is it?). ... and got brutalised.

lowered the difficulty to challenging (lowest difficulty with rares) and still got asskicked

went down to easy and still got killed on extraction with 3 bombers strafing us and utterly overrun

and then finished on trivial which was an empty wasteland for most of it

Add to that the daily to kill 500 illuminate. between us it took around 1500 kills before we all got the daily

one of our group who joined late in our last game he started with 421 kills so needed 79 and the daily didn't pop for him until after he personally cleared over 150 kills in that mission. so the was only getting about 1 kill in 2 counting.

Im only back playing after maybe 9 months and i had forgotten everything, all the muscle memory was gone but once i relearned it felt similar to before.
I play on difficulty 7-8 for reference, if you get over run it can feel like max difficulty.
Your loadout is very important , also the new faction units like the strafing ship thingy can catch you out bigtime if you dont deal with them early.

Sort of, but new features here. SEAF AI reinforcements you can actually somewhat control, new mission types, new map type (mega city), new enemies...
Game is getting bigger and better :)

Had a few rounds last night after the patch dropped. Seem to have introduced a couple of new bugs and not of the Terminid kind as i got stuck in some weird free camera mode in one game.

Is there an OcUK squad or similar? I've been mostly playing PUG groups but want a dedicated squad to play with.

i managed to get in last night for a few hrs and do some fighting on Earth with 2 other mates. it was a blast and was relieved they seem to have rebalanced the difficulty again after last weeks disasterous raids!.

also discovered the might of the R-36 Eruptor... what an absolute monster.

that combined with the stalwart for lighter combat is one hell of a combo and it makes easy work of destroying the space ships
