The Division 2 - March 2019

Quick Steam Deck benchmark with all settings on medium, shadow quality and parallax mapping on high, native resolution, object detail 20%, DX11 as DX12 has never been good in this game. Seemed to average about 60fps on the benchmark but can drop below that when out in the open world.

First time trying it out on the OLED deck and neutral lighting looks amazing on this screen.

I see that they have released some new DLC today (27th of May 2025) £12.99 on Uplay.

The Division 2: Battle for Brooklyn DLC trailer below.

Might give this a whirl, a year or so ago I played D2 a lot and had my character sitting at a decent SHD level, using mule characters in the DZ to increase EXP and farm components for my main character. No idea if that's still a 'thing' but this new DLC has sparked my interest a little. I have to say though, I wasn't keen on the whole 'modifiers' thing they introduced and played with them off most of the time.

Is Strikers gear still one of the 'Go-to' gearsets, with the St Elmo's, or has that been nerfed?

Yeah - I jumped into D1 a few weeks before they introduced the movement changes and one of the things that grabbed me was it just felt good to play, though some things needed some refinement, but the movement changes and trajectory of mechanics with D2 went against that. I wanted to enjoy D2 but it just feels a chore to play in comparison. Which is a shame as that trailer does look interesting and evokes the old Division feeling.

I have 500 hours in D2 but endgame is just not there and never will be.
Ill be passing on this as its just more of the same, a handful missions to rerun over and over, one gearset that will more than likely feel like others i the game and a couple of exotics.

They should have expanded on Div 1 world and put all resources into creating a decent endgame to retain players.

I really enjoyed both of these once I got into them, solo only, but I find once completed I didn't really want to re-play them and a dlc now, unsure if any solo play, is too late. I'm like that with most things though. The Division 3 now that would get me interested :)

This is a game that I seem to reinstall once a year. Play for a few days and then quickly remember why I stopped playing the last time.

Could and should be great - but just isnt.

Not played this in an age, really enjoyed the first game and running the story in Div2 and then stopped playing, the areas you play in are amazingly detailed and the combat is fun, but all the enemies feel far too spongy and you're there spraying bullets at them for ages with seemingly little impact. Still I'll likely pick up the DLC at some point to play through the new story.
