The Division 2 - March 2019

I miss the Snow, D1 was epic and super atmospheric, D2 was great but lacked the Atmosphere of D1. Not sure what I would like to see for D3......

I wish with D1, and something maybe they could do for D3, they'd made it more like that survival mode but without time limit and a little less hardcore, where the streets were more active/re-usable, there is loads of stuff in the streets and underground of D1 which is unused or only used once which has loads of mileage in it for interesting gameplay.

One thing which would be quite cool, and something with the drones, etc. I think they originally played around with, is being able to play as a small team in that environment with the "fog of war" due to the weather, where one player is acting more like the commander scanning the area around, etc. with various dynamic goals, a bit like the West Side Piers district but better done.

Something which really killed D2 for me, and significantly eroded my enjoyment of D1 after 1.8, was the movement changes - the older version of D1 nailed it aside from the potential issues in PVP but they could have been solved other ways. That and the gameplay mechanics in general in D2 are clunkier and far too much influenced by a small number of "pro" players with their own agendas.

If that's the case then I'm actually keen to see what it will look like. The new Avatar and especially Star Wars game using the Snowdrop engine looks phenomenal

Didn't know Outlaws was a thing - was going to say all the recent Star Wars games have been either Unreal Engine or Frostbite.

Bought both the Division 1 and 2 way after their release dates for like 3 quid. Only ever played the missions in SP which I quite enjoyed and were well worth the £. Never could be bothered with the MP and DZ though so probably missed out on so much.

TD2 DZ is rife with cheats, or at least it was when I quit playing.

Same with TD1 - whenever I ventured into PVP it was almost always either people trying to do PVE and just wanted you to kill them as quickly as possible so they could get back to what they were doing or cheaters, I think I had one good 4v4 fight and that was it.

I went on the official Division discord and found some people to party up with specifically to farm DZ loot and once I had the items with OKish rolls, that was it. Yaahl Brand, think it had the mask which had like 20% status effects or something? Nightwatcher maybe?

With how they abandoned Div2 I don't have much hope for D3 but will hope it's good and back on form.

Didn't the majority of players abandon it pretty quickly though which might have shifted priorities in terms of continuing to invest in the game.

I remember on launch playing with quite a few guys from these forums - that went on for like 6 months solid and it just looked at that point like there were no further expansions, so people started bailing then.

I don't think I've played it now in maybe 3 years at least. I do recall loading it up and trying to get some runs done on a hard mode and matchmaker just never found any. So it felt like barely anyone was playing anymore.

They've added the Eagle Bearer to the DZ, so you can imagine how hard that has been to acquire for users. :(

I was fortunate to get it from the Raid a few years ago.

Yes, it didn't take long to abandon it as they weren't improving and fixing things, especially the dark zone. Going from Div1 DZ to Div2 wasn't an improvement.

I lean towards, they broke it and didn't fix things so people left. I still know people playing and I jumped back on when the expansion came out but it didn't hook me at the time.
