BMW and M Power Owners

Any advice? Like the look of this but considering it or a cmax…is this likely to cost a good wedge more for service/repair?

It’s got all the mod cons, navigation, cruise control, 1 owner from new, its hardly the worst deal of the century.

I’m not particularly fond of these but if you like it, the service stamps are there, shop about a bit, test drive and go for it. I’m guessing these will be better quipped than the Ford.

I mean, I currently have a fiesta that is
How big is the interior of the 2GT compared to the cmax?

Yes, 7 seats is the big thing really and all of the Ford’s are either eco boosts or diesel

Get a test drive booked and if you’re happy then go for it.

Sounds like it would fit your requirements, it’s reasonable mileage for the age and all the equipment you’d probably need.

Make sure to check the chain schedules on these engines.

Is that to service the chain or replace? Do they usually go at that mileage?

Replace, someone will be able to answer better than me though.

It shouldn’t be a concern if its been serviced well, I only mention as you might need to factor it in over the next 24 months unless its been done already.

Goodyear F1 Supersports, CSC7, PS4S or PZero * ? F1SS is almost £100 less than the CSC7
Super sports are very definitely a summer tyre, by all accounts poor in low temps so if you’re not swapping wheels/tyres for winter and it’ll be used then too I’d avoid them. The 4s isn’t great at low temps either AFAIK. CSC7 I’d probably go for.

Look around for prices, despite my discount code above for black circles some places are cheaper, although BC include fitting.

Yeah my head says CSC7, but I wasn't expected the F1SS to be that much cheaper... Still have plenty of tread on the PSS* but just fed up of the lack of grip.
I have a set of winters, but would still rather have the best possible tyres for the rest of the year, which is what I normally do. Was just surprised at how expensive the CSC7 are :(

The CSC7 is still the newest Conti sports tyre so still has a premium.

Thought about Pilot Sport 5’s? I have them on my 428i. 20k miles and still loads of tread.

Not available in 265/35R19

Looking again, CSC7 are halfway between the F1SS and PS4S so not so bad actually. Is the wear rate still as poor as Contis in years gone by?

I can't say for certain but I've got a new set of CSC7s all round on my F31 335d which is currently doing a LOT of miles.

Edit: by which I mean I guess I'll find out soon if they're poor.

You won't regret CSC7, they are in a different league to the PSS.

Had CSC7's on my M340i Touring. Absolutely superb tyres. When it was time to replace them, I went for PS4S BMW Star * Marked, purely to try them and compare. Very little between them for most peoples 'normal' road use, although I felt the CSC7's had just a little edge over the Michelins, especially for ride quality.

Only thing that I found with the Continentals was wear rate wasn't too good. My CSC7's were down to 3mm ish on the rears after about 6500 miles. The Michelins are now down to 5.5mm ish after just shy of 7000 miles so I'd guess they are potentially on track to run to maybe 9000-10000 miles before they hit 3mm. To be clear though, that wouldn't be a big issue for me, I replace tyres as and when they need done and mileage isn't a huge consideration personally, its more of an observation.

Ultimately though, for most folk it would be impossible to split hairs between the two. Been happy with both and when it comes down to replacing them next time around, I'll just look at the best deals available at the time and go with what is the best value I think.
