Doctor Who

Rani part 1 was different and I liked the surreal nature of it. I’m finding the heavy handed preaching tiring though.

That was an awesome episode, back to classic Doctor Who. Really enjoyed that.

  • Again, the Doctor was a side character and all he had to do in this episode was look gormless/confused and say, "what?" a lot. Rani/Angie Watts/Bel all totally outshined him this episode.

  • Didn't like Conrad continually referring to him as Doctor Who.

  • Yes, the 'message' was still present, but i thought it was worked into the script and not just shoved down your throat.

But those were my only niggles. Looking forward to part 2!

/\/\/\ You have a point there. Digital spy reported that the BBC may put Dr. who to rest for a while, if that's true I dunno whether I'll happy or sad, perhaps it needs to be.

It didn't say "As The Doctor" in the credits.
Would it even matter though? As either way, with RTD there, the writing will remain... sub-par. Twice now, a feared virtual cosmic being, was just flushed down the toilet in 5 minutes flat and taken care of. Makes you wonder why they were feared in the first place. Logic out the window all over again. It's basically Lucasfilm, no changing with certain people in charge.

I'm confused now if Rose is the new Doctor, how does that work? What happens if she meets the other Rose? Or is it that she isnt Rose she just looks the same? Does it have to be someone alive/dead? Could the Doctor regenerate as The Master? or the Brigadier? I'm not sure what the regeneration rules are, if there are any

As an aside, I watched the whole of the first Whittaker series and thought it was so bad that I skipped the rest she did. Those couple of minutes of her this evening were far better than anything I saw in that first series.

Romana regenerated as Princess Astra.

Romana regenerated as Princess Astra.
So the Doctor could regenerate as say Jack Harness or Amy Pond or Riversong, that could make for some funny storylines, imagine if the Doctor regened as Riversong and then Riversong was also the companion (or better still, if the Doctor regened as Jack Harness and then Jack Harness was the companion, that could be crazy :) )

I didn’t realise the current Doctor was going so soon. Has he only done one season?
Two. Some of it was OK. But let down by really poor writing when it really needed to matter. It's unknown who pushes the actors to act a particular way, but given Jodie's cameo is so different from her run, I'm guessing the heads are the problem. In which case, the actors for The Doctor are probably not the issue.

Feels like one season considering he only did 16 episode and one Christmas special.
