The high adrenaline, testosterone fuelled sport hasn't though. Easy for the red mist to take over when you're in the thick of it. Aggressive win at all costs archetypes like Max tend to have those traits.

I'm far from a Max fan btw

It is equally easy for the sport's governing body to harshly punish and DSQ/hand out race bans to those who can't keep their red mist under control...

Sure. Something harsher than a 10s would be appropriate i suppose.

But i love it, its entertainment. Driver personalities are terribly stale and boring nowadays compared to the past. I like the rivalries

On one hand, I like that a lot of the drivers are friends, which was not really the case in the past, but 100% agree that the rivalries need some spice. 2021 was a great year.
 
Amusingly, the stewards say there was no penalty for Max leaving the track and gaining an advantage in the first incident with Russell.

Watching it again, I think Max was trying to be clever, 'give back the place' on the short straight (he slowed super early) and then dive back up the inside to retake it again.

The temptation to give George a bump as he did so to retaliate for the bump George gave him was just too much in the process.

Same here - amazed to see the bedwetters at Sky too frightened to call it. Rosberg immediately says it's a black flag and down with this sort of thing. A few races off would do him the world of good. The only one taking a few races off will be Nico, sky won't take kindly to that kind of talk.

The F1 TV commentary called it out straight away as we all saw it which was refreshing. I find their commentary much nicer than Sky in fact, more in tone with the race itself.
 
Huge Max fan...that guy is a racing machine.
I know they gave him a penalty and fair enough but ultimately Red Bull did him dirty this weekend. Hard tyres, terrible swap call, which is a shame after really taking the fight to Mclaren for most of the race.

Still long season and anything can happen.

As someone wrote on here a few races ago, he’s a driving machine - but an absolutely awful racer. You can see the toys being thrown out of the car when he isn’t winning…

I'm guessing they just thought new rubber stood a better chance against everyone else's new rubber than the old tyres.

The issue is that the only reason he can be aggressive is because everyone else compensates for him. Hes that **** driver on the roads that thinks he the dogs ******** because hes never had a crash. Nah mate, you've never had a crash because everyone sees you coming and thinks "what a *****, hes going to do something stupid and I don't want to crash" so they compensate for you. If anyone else drove like Max who was near the front of the championship there would be utter carnage.

Guys an excellent driver but he drives like a complete ****. Its not aggressive, its dangerous.
