The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

My white steel legend is vertically mounted in my O-11 Dynamic. No problems at all. Not great angles, sorry, the only ones I could find on my imgur account.

my machine is also sort of white [hence the sapphire pure lol] and I have the same black and white cable extensions by the looks as well
obviously that is the deciding factor as to whether this works lol but yeah that does look really nice

actually mines black with some white lol but yeah its trying to pretend to be like yours and im guessing i get at least +10 fps by trying to copy you lol
all jokes aside that looks nice :-)

has anyone here got any ideas how much of a bad idea attempting to vertically mount a 9070xt would be?
it would allow me to access and thus do somethign about cooling my nvme drives and it would allow me to use a pcie slot [literally my card covers all my available unused slots lol]
it would also look cool and be a learning experience
but i think i heard someone say the vapour chamber might be negatively effected?
9070XT Sapphire Pulse here, vertically mounted without any thermal issues.

awesome
Im fairly certain the pulse and the pure are pretty much the same other than the cosmetics and possibly they chose the better binned ones i doubt it though

It's only comedy if you aren't selling a GPU. Earlier gen GPU 2nd hand prices are also comedy so the relative price difference is maintained. I think a lot of people forget this. CEX's prices are hilarious
I could sell my 2070, but I'd rather pass it down to my kiddo, and keep her 2060 as a spare though. I don't mind paying the money for cards, but I won't pay gouge pricing that is vastly above MSRP, or MSRP that takes the royal ****. We have seemingly gone into a world where we are considering it 'lucky' if we pay full price. Nuts.

My pure's in a white with some black bits and brushed steel build. Looks good

Ooh nice, that's interesting to know and great work getting a response from AMD! All my bug reports get ignored. :(

But yeah, I've just been doing some reading and my post above is wrong.
Mainly because 'Shared GPU Memory' is not GPU VRAM but system RAM, so that shouldn't be in my calculations.

Did a quick search and found this from MS...

It's a v.old article but explains what TM is doing from the MS side and though old and possibly out of date does show my post to be wrong.

I also found some of my old TM screens from posting in the AMD driver thread when I had a 6700XT and 16GB system RAM (Have since gone to a 9070XT and 32GB RAM) that also contradict what I said above and show the difference in reporting.

If you hear any more from AMD please report back, I'm interested to learn more.

It's going to be base functions like storing the complete image to send to your monitor that it will always have to keep, the shared memory space map etc. There is a certain amount of base storage it's just going to have to use even if "idle".

im highly tempted to switch my model of xt to red devil, is it worth the £21 extra over base £569 msrp, especially how high prices are i should get near on on the price i paid for my reaper

£21 is sod all, personally I would. Should give a higher output I would imagine. What else can you get for £21 these days?

How are you upgrading it for £21? If you are selling the old one on something like eBay then I would say not worth it, small risk of getting scammed and minimal benefits from upgrading.

Locally, prices are around original MSRP I paid £569. As for eBay I've bought n sold things on eBay for over 20yrs and never had an issue tbh, I'm just use common sense if selling high value:)

For those looking to purchase, maybe prices are coming down now the card has been out a while and demand is lessening. I've seen the Asrock Taichi XT in stock for £650 elsewhere.

No faffing with BNPL credit agreements either.

Maybe a trend?

And I now have an unexpected bill that’s going to kiss this purchase goodbye

Oh well, will sit on the sidelines for a bit.

Was always going to be between a 9070XT and 5070ti. So maybe another month or two won’t be so bad.

nearly 1/2 a year in and the 50 series drivers are causing some people massive issues still so I would wait for that

Got my 9070 Pulse on Friday (24 hours after ordering, with free 5 day delivery I might add, well done OCUK). Installed in place of my 6600XT Nitro+, updated driver and rebooted. No issues at all, very impressed. This is how the GPU experience should be! Haribo too!

Have to say in my limited testing, 4K games with FSR3/4 are performing very well
