Pentagon releases UFO footage

Not sure if this is more appropriate for the Astronomy thread as it includes actual science but here we go....
From Anton 'It's never aliens...' Petrov.

And a link the the scientific article included.

TLDR:

Unexplained dimming of starlight in double pulses that can only, thus far, be explained by an opaque ring somewhere in the outer solar system passing in front of them.

How is an opaque ring formed in the first place (and what exactly is it?) and how has it stayed together for, presumably, hundreds of millions of years?

Stargate anyone?

It's never aliens until it is........

Edit just to add a quote from the conclusion of the article above:

'Whatever is found, those speculating that our best chance of finding evidence of extra-terrestrial intelligence lies within our own solar system [15], might have much to ponder!'

Yeah, but no..

It's Dyson Spheres all over again..

"that can only, thus far, be explained by an" - this translates as it could be anything, but lets make it aliens as our go-to for publicity purposes..

Couple of years back I see a drone shaped like a boomerang flying, it was rotating around while flying in a straight line.

It was most likely a trick of the light and how the glare/shadows from the angle you saw the rotor(s).

I’ve seen the same effect from helicopters that come in to land on the hospital landing pad near our office.
