YouTube Premium

Just tried Kazakhstan myself after being booted from Poland last month, revolut virtual card declined for not being from the country.

Guess they are onto it!

Just signed up to family account there, £16 for the year and 6 accounts.
Still have youtube music but reckon it will be gone in next 1-2 months and this will keep me going. Dont really watch much youtube videos anymore.

Do the family members you invite need to join via a vpn ?

No, maybe, in theory they do a check but in practise most people don't seem to be affected by it but a small number are for no apparent rhyme or reason.

Doing a trial of the premium lite. Not doing the constant country boogaloo as I don't have the patience and that would get old fast for me and they keep getting round ad blockers. I've had a good run though.
I watch a lot more on youtube than I do on TV so I can suck up the cost.

Personally I think if you aren't using the music side then Premium Lite is a fair price for what it is - personally I won't pay a penny more though with the tactics YT use to try and beat people into paying for full Premium while many areas of the website/service outside of the video player itself are pretty poor (history, comments, etc. are a joke least effort implementation, some areas of the site are like something out of the 90s internet or just fragmented and abortive efforts like searching your old comments which falls back to some half-arsed Google page) - if they increase the price on Lite I'm out again.

Pretty much where I am. Even Lite is expensive tbh, and on the limit of what I am willing to pay. Premium is extortionate.
Pretty obvious the price will increase after a while I think.

I'm happy to keep hopping countries. It does seem they're getting a bit hotter on it though.

Had a look at my Monzo history for YTP. 62 payments, average of 1.63 per month. Total of £100.88. Not bad for 5 and a bit years of YTP when a year in the UK alone would be £155.
