Ballerina

can't help feeling at this point that evewry super-trained assassin they introduce just devalues Wick himself. In the original he was the ultimate and got his nickname for a reason, now it's seeming that he's just one of countless. taking his magic away a bit, i feel.
Agreed, its one of the bigger issues I had with the continental, I'm all for expanding the universe as its got lots of potential. Just chill with the super assassins..

Its a problem most of them face, you need competent villains or people to make the hero look strong, prob is then what you end up doing is everyone has to keep levelling up against the hero to make them look the best.

Still not sure how or when this links in with the John Wick movies.
It's through Angelica Houston's character (there's a glimpse of her in the background early in the trailer), but we now learn they weren't ballerinas she was training but deadly assasin's (who were utterly useless when she got knifed through the hands).

Really enjoyed this quite a lot more than I was expecting. Similar to JW and JW 2 in pacing and feel. Obviously ridiculous, over the top action and violence. Some so OTT you will laugh out loud.

Ana is amazing too. :heart eyes:

Definitely worth a watch for some brain off action. It’s pretty short too, Google says 1hr 29 but I think it’s actually 1hr 45.

She's definitely easy on the eyes haha. Will be seeing it tomorrow.

IMDb says it’s 2hr4 which is actually longer than I’d expect for an action movie like this. Anymore reviews? Debating going this weekend..
The screening I saw started at 4pm and I was out at about 5:45pm, 5:50pm at the latest. Hopefully, we'll get an accurate run time at some point. :D Although that will include the credits, which I didn't stay for.

Yeah...

It didn't have that same iconic feel of John Wick ie no super memorable dialogue scenes etc imo.

But was well embedded in the same universe and a parallel run around the JW2 and JW3 storylines/timeline.

Action was really good, overall plot and motivation was a bit meh, Anna De Armas suits the role and played it well. John Wick was in it enough.

Odeon showing was quite empty last night, maybe 40 people in. Think it was about 1hr 40min of film time exc trailers and credits.

Deffo worth seeing at cinema.

I'd probs go watch it again tbh.

IMDb is rarely wrong on runtimes tbh. You must have absolutely legged it at the first sign of credits rolling :D

Thanks for the review- although reading it through I didn’t expect you to say that at the end lol

Friend of mine said it was better than MI

It was good, decent popcorn action flick and well worth it at the cinema.

Plot was just very paint by numbers.

Anna De Armas had clearly put the fight training in and weapons training time with taran tactical like KR.

Good blend of practical fights/effects vs cgi. Quite a good bit of screen time with Keanu as JW too, not just a 30sec cameo.
