Just can't bring myself to like the goofy grills on the modern beemers. Aside from that, it looks great tbhNice & clean for tomorrows coffee & Chrome meeting at Chateau Impney.

4 series looks more like a 6 series these days. Looks absolutely massive.
Same for all cars these days. A new Polo looks comically large against an old Golf. Cars are just huge these days.
It’s not the best design in the world - far from it - but it did grow on me eventually. Took a while though. It’s the rest of the package that I found compelling.
When the next design monstrosity comes out, I’m sure this will look even better

The next M3 supposedly will be offered as both EV and ICE, so at least one of them will have a functional grill. Besides, you don’t need grills to make a car ugly. Plenty of EVs manage it.
I had a phase 2 R19 16v hatch in ‘98. It was metallic blue and I thought it was awesome though I was only 17 yrs old. Mid sevens to 60mph and it handled pretty well. Great sports seats that hugged you without being uncomfortable and it had most of the toys for its time.
Mine might have had a hard life before I got it however: sticky brake calipers, cutch went shortly before the gearbox shredded itself at 74k, the bonnet rusted from the inside out and all the alu window seals bubbled looking nasty. Ran it for 4 years and had some good times. Part exchanged it for a new Vauxhall Vectra GSI 2.6i which was a mistake in itself.
I’ve got a video of it on an old camcorder, but no pics sadly.

Same. I have always hated "black edition" cars with all black trim and wheels. Black wheels especially look horrible in my opinion.
Subjective of course, but I’m with you. Give me chrome/silver/alloy trim and wheels any day.
I wouldn't say all cars look bad blacked out, some suit it, majority don't though.
Sorry, badly worded joke, I meant did you get a free car with your grill?
I actually like the front end of the 4-series. It's striking but does flow with the design.

The 4 series and M3/M4 grill screams of “desperate to look different/distinguishable” to me.
I’m not a huge fan of the M2 but I don’t think it looks bad. Just meh.
