What's the chances of a newer Switch 2 bundle coming out in the next 2 months?

On the 3rd April, I pre-ordered 2x Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundles. 1 was to open and play on release date - a 'family' console if you like. The second was to keep for my sons birthday, which is at the beginning of August. I've seen consoles sell out and be unavailable for months in the past, so I figured I'd pre-order his birthday one whilst I got the chance. I didn't want to be stuck in 2 months time having to pay scalper prices to get one.

It looks like Nintendo made plenty of consoles to meet the demand, so the second console was unnecessary.

Does anyone know when we're likely to get other coloured joycons? I wondered if there might be a DK bundle released mid July.
I don't want to keep this second console hidden in the loft, if Nintendo are likely to bring out a newer edition before August... and I only get 30 days to return it.
On the flip side, I'll probably have to get MKW for him anyway. It'd be nice to have his console with different coloured joycons to save them getting mixed up! Maybe I'm over analysing, and should just keep the second one I have?!

That’s the kind of leaver you pull when you have to drive further sales but as mentioned they are still in the launch phase where sales volume is at its highest.

It might have a different game (e.g. DK code) but I doubt it will have different colours for the joycons. The Mario box art was just a sleeve over the ‘real’ box so it’s something they could do very easily. But I can’t imagine they would want to add another SKU so early in the release cycle and almost everyone will be buying Mario Kart anyway so I don’t really see the point.

Yeah, it was the CP2077 port and DLSS that made me think about it. I do realise it’s a big ask though.

But Cyberpunk is a previous gen game that was released on the Xbox One and ps4.

GTA6 looks like a whole new level above cyberpunk, and will only be on ps5 and Xbox Series.

Rockstar are magicians so I guess it's safer to never say never. However I reckon they'd really struggle to get GTA 6 (at least looking close to what we've seen in the trailers) running on the switch 2.

I've got Cyberpunk coming today; interested to see how it performs. Haven't played it since its initial (botched) PC launch

Part of the issue with GTA6 will be storage size.

I’m expecting it to be a 200+gb game. Even COD is 100g’s these days which is ridiculous for such a game.

Agreed, but the compression they get on Switch games is fantastic, look at the size of PC games and compare to the Switch version. they're sometimes only 10% of the size.

It’s because they don’t include any of the high res textures which the switch can’t display.

you can leave an awful lot of content behind if you are only rendering at 720p.

On the plus side, give it a week and you'll be able to temper that 'missing out' feeling when everyone starts posting how they're bored of only having Mario Kart to play or replaying stuff they've already played on Switch but with better framerates and wouldn't it have been good if Nintendo had something a bit more substantial to launch the console with

I don't have a switch 1 anymore. So I'm really looking forward to playing through pokemon violet / the two zelda games along with mario kart tbh
