There's no Switch 2 upgrade for Mario Kart 8, I have to admit I hadn't really noticed how good Mario Kart World looked until I opened up MK8 again!
 
I've never actually owned anything Nintendo would you believe, The switch 2 along with the mario cart game does look great though.

How did Nintendo mess up the boxing of these though,who's idea was it to put the actual unit at the top of the box with zero protection :D

I'm hoping to potentially pick up a second gen switch one at some point if they go down in value.

I thought this same thing when i was unboxing it.

Something else I've noticed is the weight distribution when the switch is docked, it tips forward kinda easily lol

here’s the thing, I’ve not seen anyone say they got a DOA device due to shipping damage.

If you stabbed a 1cm sharp object into a lot of boxed devices, you’d damage it.

It was one employee in a single store doing their best thinking. At the end of the day, you can’t account for really stupid.

I’d be annoyed if some store employee stapled anything to the retail box of a product I just bought, it could be a gift and how there are two holes in the packaging…

I think you're right, but the Switch 2 has DLSS ... so there is an outside chance GTA6 could get a port at a much later date. Think it's unlikely though - and I won't be buying it.

It's honestly amazing at some of the ports that they managed to even get running on that Switch 1, and the 2 is a lot faster. Now that it has pretty modern hardware, getting it running should be doable, just depends on how much they would want to dial back the quality and resolution.

True, unlikely it'll fit on a single 64 GB catridge. But that wouldn't deter 2K from releasing it on a game key card. Or maybe they could release it on it's own 256 GB "branded" microSD Express card ? Let's face it ... some people will play GTA6 as a "forever" game ( as they do wth GTA5 online ). They wouldn't care much about having minimal storage capacity for other games.

What's the chances of a newer Switch 2 bundle coming out in the next 2 months?

On the 3rd April, I pre-ordered 2x Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundles. 1 was to open and play on release date - a 'family' console if you like. The second was to keep for my sons birthday, which is at the beginning of August. I've seen consoles sell out and be unavailable for months in the past, so I figured I'd pre-order his birthday one whilst I got the chance. I didn't want to be stuck in 2 months time having to pay scalper prices to get one.

It looks like Nintendo made plenty of consoles to meet the demand, so the second console was unnecessary.

Does anyone know when we're likely to get other coloured joycons? I wondered if there might be a DK bundle released mid July.
I don't want to keep this second console hidden in the loft, if Nintendo are likely to bring out a newer edition before August... and I only get 30 days to return it.
On the flip side, I'll probably have to get MKW for him anyway. It'd be nice to have his console with different coloured joycons to save them getting mixed up! Maybe I'm over analysing, and should just keep the second one I have?!
 
Bundles usually comes out with a new release title, big first party release title. There is a chance it there will be one with Donkey Kong I guess so if you want, I would wait until July for that, then you still have a month to get a 2nd Console. You should also find out any bundle news leading up to it's release date too.

Yeah, it was the CP2077 port and DLSS that made me think about it. I do realise it’s a big ask though.
 
Enjoying Mario Kart. Is there more to unlocking everything other than just completing all the single player modes?

I've been using a Gamesir Nova lite and it's a pain to connect and the last time I tried to use it, I was constantly in a wheel spin for some reason, had to go back to using the joycons which are fine but I don't love them. Thinking I might have to get a pro controller, so expensive though.
