Road to Rotary: Japan to France in an RX7

That is the saddest part in the whole thing. The point that the company that is in charge of looking after your delivery just couldn't give a rats ass. Long gone are the days of a thing called customer service. You only get customer service when it effects their publicity.
Yea, this is what really gets me, too. It's only because of the reach that they've had a fire lit up their asses.

The amount of times this must happen to people is so unjust.

What's more, this guy took my first drive away from me. I never even got to drive my own car. He did...

We're on a combined 850k ish views on tiktok, hoping I get some bite from the press in some way. I'm not letting this one go.

Need to get my Kei truck over here soon, too. I suppose I can dick about with that for a bit lol

I have just caught up on this thread, having perused it a while back, gutted for you is an understatement.
As already mentioned, they chose the wrong guys car this time, although its of small recompense for your loss of time and money, let alone the car. I truly hope it works out in your favour.
I think the fact they have asked for the content to be removed means they fear the bad publicity will hurt them financially (as after all, this is all they care about).
I don't do social media etc, but I will see if I can find your youtube channel, and please keep us updated here.

Is this not car theft as he used it without permission? Or at least used it in a way he didn't have permission to..

I think you'd be hard pushed to get a judge to return a verdict of theft based on that.

It'd very much depend on the contract, but I'd assume it includes a drive on / drive off & move around site allowance so essentially consented to.

Sigh. This isn't an update that was expected or ever wanted.

My car arrived in Zeebrugge on 28th October. I was just getting back from Arctic Trek at the time. It sat waiting to go to be transported back to me in the Alsace.
Yesterday I get an email, that I really didn't want to get.

The last email you wanted to get. I had no idea what damage there was at the time, but I put something on tiktok and got a load of people messaging me who work at the port and told me what had happened, and even who it was.

Today I got all the pictures...

Wounded.

I put everything into this car and project. It's been most of this year. My trip to Japan to see it. My work with Mazda and HKS. I just spent 6500EUR replacing every single bush and perishable part on the car.

The car was perfect before. Absolutely mint. Over in Europe, in the condition it was, if I was willing to wait for the right buyer it was a 45-50k car. Now, it'll never reach that, as it's damaged. Even if it was well repaired. It's lost so much value.

I'm now faced with trying to battle the insurance company, who will either just want to give me the repair cost, or leave me completely out of pocket. All because someone decided to drift my car in a car park.

I really want to fight this and have it come to an actual positive outcome, rather than just get shafted, which is likely to happen if I just sit and let other people do **** for me.

If anyone has any experience in fighting utter **** companies, I'm determined to get what's due.

Here's to coming back stronger.
I hope this was resolved for you. Any updates?

Looking at socials it looks like he now has the car and was paid out for the value of the commercial invoice. Which is pretty abysmal with how bad the circumstances of it ending up in the state it's in are

Can someone give a summary for miserable old farts like me who refuse to download TikTok?

Basically says: He's keeping the car, but cant decide if he will fix it himself or pay someone to fix it. Sounds like he is leaning towards having someone else do it since he wants to spend his time elsewhere.

He has bought some suspension bits and plans on fitting them himself to see if the car drives straight and get someone else to repair the rest.
