Any recommendations you have with the updated build Tamzzy listed above?Get yourself a 1000w + PSU .
Power spikes can be a problem and gives you scope for a more powerful GPU down the line.

Usage: Gaming - would like to be able to do 4k with some games, at a good frame rate.
While this is true it can in certain circumstances go way beyond 500w and the Fe isn't a oc model.5080 has 420w 20ms spikes, 850w psu is enough to handle it
1kw is better no doubt, but space constraints in the A3 might be an issue

agree, the ATX3.1 spec provides for this:While this is true it can in certain circumstances go way beyond 500w and the Fe isn't a oc model.
530w 1ms spikes
A power supply unit with 850 watts not only offers sufficient scope in such scenarios, but also enables short-term load peaks to be absorbed, which are covered by the ATX 3.1 standard. This standard requires the ability to cope with short-term power requirements of up to 200% of the nominal load for a duration of up to one millisecond. The selected power supply can therefore also handle peak loads of up to 1700 watts without stability problems or voltage dips.
Was gonna recommend the same phanteks 1000w but it's out of stock ATM while the next decent cost £150.Any recommendations you have with the updated build Tamzzy listed above?
(i wouldn't have the rear fan though.)
never tested it, seems like it would disrupt the airflow patternWhy not? It's perfectly fine as an intake.
New releases, as well as “older” games like Halo MCC, TW3, DOOM Eternal, Cyberpunk etc.Which games and at what settings? Even a modest GPU will do 4k 60 fps at medium settings, in older games. But not for modern games with full RT.

The 1200w phanteks gh is in stock and measures the same as the 850w and a 1000w so case doesn't need changing.New releases, as well as “older” games like Halo MCC, TW3, DOOM Eternal, Cyberpunk etc.
I’m happy to spend a bit more with the 1kw being a better choice; any recommendations on a larger/more appropriate case?
just for clarity this is the updated build list:

swapped to cheaper RAM - same timings so no performance loss, just cheaper
motherboard is OOS at OUCK but available elsewhere (and i can see that they're cheaper than ocuk too) - when you buy this elsewhere just make sure you're buying the "R2.0" version, the second revision (ie R2.0) has pcie 5.0 to the pcie slot. the original version doesn't.
Was just about to order everything and now the graphics card is out of stock can’t seem to find it anywhere as well priced either. devastating
That's going to be a really tight fit in the A3. 331mm.My basket at OcUK:
- 1 x Palit GeForce RTX 5080 Gaming Pro 16GB GDDR7 PCI-Express Graphics Card (SKU: GRA-PAL-04059) = £979.99
Total: £987.98 (includes delivery: £7.99)
Will perform just as well, you will only get a 3 year warranty compared to 5 with the Zotac however.
You have 3 options:Was just about to order everything and now the graphics card is out of stock can’t seem to find it anywhere as well priced either. devastating

I specced the zotac because it's a 304mm long card.
I believe the max GPU length is 334mm to accommodate the PSU mounted in the F2.5/F3 position.
You have 3 options:
1) preorder and wait
2) wing it with a bigger palit GPU and same case
3) change out the case to fit the palit
Never used them before. I was thinking of another trailer (cannot link - forum rules).Anywhere else you’d recommend shopping?
Yeah used PayPal.Never used them before. I was thinking of another trailer (cannot link - forum rules).
The trust pilot reviews of case doesn't seem very favourable. Hopefully you paid using PayPal
It'll fit, but I loathe at paying £150 more. I'd wait if this were my moneyBut wanted to ask - how would this GPU do? happy to spend a little more just to get it built!
Yeah, fair enough. I’m getting stupidly impatientIt'll fit, but I loathe at paying £150 more. I'd wait if this were my money
