It leaked when i tried it to test vacuum thumb over tube but it might be that i had not tightened the fitting enough but still made me think to isolate the soft part using a valveWould be interested to find out how well the soft tubing (if you're going to use it in the final build) copes with the partial vacuum. Whilst I was thinking I'm at the design stage and can lose the soft tube, I also just realised I plan to have the Mo-Ra externally on QDCs....and that means a soft tube link.
Nah, read some more and convince yourself to go borrowsilicate glass. Where's the fun if you're not making life properly difficult for yourself! Will keep an eye on this, maybe I can convince myself to go hardline![]()
At least that would save messing around with bending tubes I guess!Nah, read some more and convince yourself to go borrowsilicate glass. Where's the fun if you're not making life properly difficult for yourself!![]()
Yeah I think with decent soft tubingHave had an unused Leakshield for a while, but don't fancy messing with a hardline build! I think soft tubing is ok provided it is sufficiently thick (OD > 1.5x ID) so it doesn't collapse, but all my fittings are for thinner stuff so I don't fancy replacing them all either!

Yeah, you can't really bend it yourself - at least not cleanly, reliably and without burning your house down. JayzTwoCents did bend some with a blow torch on YouTube....but freehand as I think you're talking something like 820 - 1260°C!At least that would save messing around with bending tubes I guess!
If can't get 16/10mm quick disconnectsYeah, you can't really bend it yourself - at least not cleanly, reliably and without burning your house down. JayzTwoCents did bend some with a blow torch on YouTube....but freehand as I think you're talking something like 820 - 1260°C!
You can get it pre-bent with a single 90° bend. The 16mm OD seems the best option as it has an 11mm ID - the rest are smaller in ID than I'd like. You can cut it with a diamond wheel in a Dremel but you need to be careful about the dust created - you don't want to breathe it in.
@Mcnumpty2323 I think I'll try some of the ZMT 16/10 when it comes back in stock - it's a third the price of Norprene! Now, if I can just find some QDCs that'll fit....and have bulkhead connections....and be in the right colour!![]()
