Speaking of milatary
I live on a slight flight path , for traffic heading around and mainly heading towards cardiff airport
you can tell usually if its commercial flights coming over, or milatary
the other night quite late i heard something go over, had a quick peek on flightradar and it was a milatery Airbus A400M atlast - REG ZM407

going over my house it was at 3,875ft altitude and 294 knots
Heading towards cardiff airport, because of the reduction in altitude i thought it was going to land, however, it passed over the airport, and went straight past it.
Anyone who knows cardiff airport would know its on a coastal line, anyway the altitude dropped to 900ft going over the river severn, it then dropped to 500ft, it then dropped its altitude over sort of bridgend way over the severn to 375ft and a ground speed of 195 knots . it was flying and then done a series of circuits (kind of like a big round cycle track type circuit maintainig seriously low altitude, like it was trying to avoid radar. it continued doing this for around 20-30 mins, it then headed back over cardiff (past the airport) and back through the mainland
the aircraft came from brize norton and looked to be heading back to brize
Any ideas what they could have been doing ? training excercise? seeing as they missed cardiff airport and its also a transporter plane, why would they be doing low altitude circuits like that over the water? I could understand if they were doing radar avoidence training, or reducing speed and altitude coming in to land

If you look on the circuits over the bristol channel on the left (just before they reduced altitude down to 375ft, then after these circuits it increased again
