Possibly stupidly easy and obvious question, BUT...

How would you go about sharing Ultimate across two consoles? Two of my sons have their own Xbox in their rooms, with each having their own ultimate subscription, both ending in the next few weeks. Seems silly both paying separately for Ultimate.

Is there a way to have ultimate available on two consoles at the same time?

If i understand it correctly though, the Xbox games won’t be in actual 3D.. So why would anyone buy this.
VR isn't all about 3D. Its the immersion that comes from being in your own little world. With the pass through on, you can sit in your room with a big 100" display looking like its on the wall playing games. Or use the headset to play VR games. Watch movies in a theatre environment etc.

Yes very easy.

Have child A pay for ultimate and have them set child Bs xbox as their home xbox.

It may try auto logging in child A into Child Bs xbox when it's started up, but you can get around this by having the controller marked as a certain user's controller and have it that when that controller turns on the xbox, it auto logs in the user you want it to.

They put out a video a few days ago announcing they're making new consoles.

No idea I have not spoken to anyone since yesterday. They are not sure if it means the next console will be the last or if they are pulling out now. Nobody knows whose jobs are going at the moment but it’s meant to be significant layoffs including hardware teams.

Will have to see what happens

Jason Schreier, Forbes broke the story last night. Since then lot's of channels have said it will includes losses in 'Europe'.

'to ensure that windows is the number one platform for gaming'.

Again there is ambiguity and a confusing message. There's a larger debate here, but in reality this isn't a 'traditional console' that will run all unique Xbox Games and Disc code. This is a Windows 11-based PC that will have some form of backwards compatibility and run Play Anywhere games in the future. Also integration from other Windows PC storefronts. How much Microsoft lean into OEMs to make Xboxes is also to be seen. AMD did also put their own brief video too.

So Microsoft has clearly changed strategy for a few years now, although how much of the jobs cuts are around closing traditional retail channels, or other areas remains to be seen.

Thank you!!

I like Xbox. I've owned every single one but I'm tempted by the PS7 (whenever that comes out). The Series X is fine for now but I'm mainly playing on my Switch these days.

Bloomberg and The Verge also reporting that Xbox is planning "major job cuts" and that Xbox distribution in "Central Europe" is to be restructured which will result in operations "ceasing in some regions".
Sounds like some smaller European Markets will end up being handled by larger neighbours.

Just about to ask the same question and saw your answer. Thank you.
Question though. I do all as you say, does this allow both my kids to play the same game at the same time, i.e Minecraft.

Need to clarify all this before I go ahead myself.

@unwashed potato!

my oldest childs (child A) core game pass ran out yesterday so I cancelled his sub. Child B core game pass sub runs out on 10th July, I have cancelled his sub but still can use it until that date. So, my understanding is to resub Child A to the Ultimate and not to sub Child B to anything, set Child B xbox as home for Child A and from there on, they can play any game together.

Is this all correct?
