That is too much, no way jose for me.

Would rather get a Steam Deck 2 when it comes out.

I think the biggest issue it doesn't leverage the Xbox ecosystem in any meaningful way, i.e. if you are heavily invested in the Xbox library this doesn't allow you to access that library beyond what you can already do on existing device you own. It's just another Windows 11 handheld PC. And that's fine if you want it and what the rumours have suggested for a while now.

I'd always thought that they would be working on an app/software layer that enabled you to take your library of Xbox games and play them locally on a PC. Whether something is coming, or not I don't know.

Fixing the 'big screen' experience for Windows users is great, but Microsoft didn't show how other storefronts would co-operate with this enhanced dashboard. I think that will likely still be a very 'PC experience'.

This is my issue too because I either get physical XB games or I play it just on Game Pass.

With Game Pass, most of them can be played with cloud gaming anyway? then I can do that on pretty much anything. My iPad, my RP5 is also perfect for that.

Doubt a top end Steam Deck 2 would be much cheaper if it matches the specs of the Ally X anyway.

The difference is Valve do subsidise hardware. The SD isn't the concern, it's getting people locked into Steam. The top-end SD is £569 so even if it's £700-800 for a SD2 it will likely be cheaper than this top-end ROG Ally etc. Any OEM is always adding profit margins to a chain. This is partly why the low-end SD's have been so cheap when compared to the handheld PCs.

Microsoft could reduce the price with reference hardware, but whether, or not they will remain in the hardware business remains to be seen. And they have talked about the days of subsidised hardware being over so 'branded OEM' PCs is where they have arrived.

I'll be honest I think I'll be swapping my steam deck for the XBox Ally X (unless it's completely stupidly priced). I'd love to be able to take my Xbox games portably without the need for an internet connection to stream on the cloud. I love my deck but the fact I can't access my gamepass library offline is a killer. Hopefully the Ally X will be able to run EmuDeck though.

Did they not say it would play Steam games too?

It's a Windows 11 handheld PC so will play any games irrespective of the store front. The killer question is how well the supposed integrated into this new launcher/windows dashboard will work and whether Microsoft continues to develop this aspect.

For owners of Gears of War Ultimate Edition check your Xbox messages...

Out of interest did anyone get this for playing the disc edition and who owns just an original xbox one?

i ask as i heard rumours some received codes even though they have the disc edition and not digital, but maybe MS know they have a series x or ?

As there is no point offering the remaster to original xbox one users.
