Indiana Jones reboot Staring Pedro Pascal

Dunno about loads, A quick google search shows, DailyMail, OcUK (this thread by BigPig), WomansDay, some X posts and some facebook posts (in the last 24 hours).

I'm gonna guess the comments sections of those pages are full of people who have some issue with Pedro's personal views and family members more than his acting skills :)

p.s. They shouldn't reboot Indy for many reasons, and I doubt any actor could pull it off even if they tried!

woman’s day? What is that.

The story about the reboot been on IMDB. Film reel, comic book news as well as popping up YouTube’s now.

As for Pedro. I like my male leads masculine on and off the screen. Covered in baby oil and in spandex!!

I have to have the feeling if the building is on fire they would run in and carry me out. I just don’t get that vib from Pedro!!

Some have worked though. IJ Crystal Skull took notably more than the originals at the cinema (prob not in consideration of merch and vhs etc). Jurassic World has consistently done well compared to Jurassic Park 93' then its dwindling sequels to obscurity.

Even those genres super divisive with the fans have been good, i.e. a lot of the superhero genres have rebooted well across both DC and Marvel. Marvel didn't work consistently well more recently where they simply took it in a different direction post End Game. Star Wars consistently re-continued / re-booted well at the cinema (bar Solo ie where IP totally tied to original to Actor rather than broader story/universe). Star Trek rebooted pretty well over the years.

Tron Legacy, Blade Runner, Dune, all notably better (inflation adjusted)

Pedro Pascal though isn't a box office draw they hope he is, same issue with the upcoming Fantastic 4.

Indiana Jones Dial of Destiny was just boring. Never mind the characters and politics behind it etc, film was just meh. Watching Harrison Ford as an ancient ageing tomb guardian at the holy grail resting place, continuing on from the last crusade for 2 hours, pottering about biding his time would have been more entertaining.
I agree mostly, but I think Pedro is a box office draw. I haven't watched GoT or Narcos, but I am certain films and shows he has had major parts in have made billions in the last decade!

I think we all know the real reason people don't like him recently, and possibly the reason this thread was created :)

You might be right, I only did a quick google, maybe thoise articles haven't been indexed yet. p.s. I don't think we should count YT as a source in the same way as DailyMail!

It's a weird rationalisation for disliking him (even if only semi serious). I have no idea what he's like off screen tbh but not gonna lie, your description did make me chuckle  But if that is your real reason, and it's not related to his sister or his support of LGBTQ+ stuff, then good for you!

I never really watched these films, I think I was just too much of a Star Wars kid.

That aside, Pedro Pascal fatigue is definitely a real phenomenon.

The first and 3rd are all time classics. Hard to compare to Star Wars as the 1st 3 Indy films are standalone-ish, but for me they are in the same 9-10/10 ballpark as the original trilogy.

Pedro Pascal fatigue :D

He’s not actually been in that much in the grand scheme and certainly nowhere near as annoying as Dwayne Johnson or Jack Black. He’s pretty inoffensive.

DM article looks like clickbait.

It's not really about the amount of stuff he's been in, it's combined with his presence/activity on social media.

Dwayne Johnson and Jack Black are not serious actors, there's a big difference.

They took a superb Indiana Jones story about the Ark and made it into a really poor video game. That should've been a film. I really like Pascal so no complaints here if they did use him but I do get the twitter and youtube hate watchers have made him a target for clicks to keep engagement going because when he get's anxious he might touch you.

No, jts becuase he's a ***** in rl, we'll conveniently ignore that other actors are still liked even though they are also dickheads. Absolutely nothing to do with fatigue as the blokes in everything going

Pedro as a streaming draw huge indeed but box office, nope.

He's been brilliant in many of his roles.

Box office though, the numbers $$ are low for his roles so far.

Possibly, although I've only seen Mando and The Last of Us. I've seen him in a lot more movies than TV! But yeah, now you mention it and I checked wikipedia you are right!

By this time next year he will have been in F4, Eddington and the Mando and Grogu film. You could say he's the "lead" in all of those. Will see how they perform!

Have you seen the user who posted and made this thread? Of course it's made up rubbish but it fits the made up story he loves to fight against
It seems there are two elements to the story, Disney are rumoured to be planning to reboot Indiana Jones and then an entirely contrived and speculative Pedro Pascal would be a popular choice if they rebooted. The Disney rumour has cropped up elsewhere than just the Mail. To be honest given their modus operandi these days I'd be amazed if they weren't looking to reboot it.
