Are the SYM and Kymco older models, do they update them or just release new bikes? For example old models may lack ABS but say 2025 models have it, but the VRS is from 2019 so it's updated to ABS etc.

They evolve just like cars, however discontinued and newer models are much more common.

any shed recommendations? Something like this, but a bit taller, deeper and with front and back entry also that bar on the floor could making passing the bike over difficult, or will damage the bar etc . At least a tent protect from worst of the weather.

XEMQENER Bike Storage Shed, 4x6 FT Outdoor Bike Tent Waterproof, Portable Garage Car Shelter with Galvanized Steel Frame for Motorbike, Garden Tools, 120x181x163 cm, Dark Grey

I used basic Oxford covers on mine when I had to park them outside, worked a treat. That garage thing would be a massive waste of money imo. And I reckon it'd be rotting and falling apart after one English winter.

Yes, buy a proper shed or just use an Oxford cover. Mine survived just fine last winter outside under a cover, and sprayed with ACF50 (lots of exposed alloy on mine)

yeah something like this would be better

UNIONLINE 4x7 ft Lean to Storage Metal Shed | Garden Tool | 214x130m x203cm | Waterproof | 2.6m² 4.6m³ | Lockable Door | Bike Shed for Backyard Patio | Garbage Can | Grey

If the exist door was wider, bit deeper, ideally front and (narrower) rear door

Why a shed though? Where will it be placed?

Back entrance to the garden gate leads to private road, basically a 4' wide path. Total path ength is about 10' or so at a guess. I have steps leading into garden so unfortunately putting bike into garden wouldn't be possible.

I have choice of using a cover, or some kind of "walk through" shed

AI but similar to this.

Honestly for the price of a cover, I'd do that and see how you get on. If you still think you need the shed then go for it, but a cover is just over a tenner whereas a shed is £100+. Spend the saved money on flashy lights or something :p

I'm thinking over the worst winter month december put the bike inside the house :D hallway is long enough, door is 74cm door width so bit of a squeeze but doable and rest of the year round back gate. When it's icy and wouldn't be using it.

It's a bike, not a puppy :D

Decent cover over it and it'll be fine, you're overthinking this :p

Think it depends if it's "it's second hand, it's already rusty and weathered" or "it's brand new paid full price so want to keep it in good condition over the 1 winter month"

You'd have to be absolutely mental to buy a brand new 125. That'll be £500+ down the pan the second you start it up, and you won't be keeping it for long. It's one of the dumbest things you can do in your motorcycling career.

I know, because I did it :p

Anyway, where are you and what's your budget? I'm bored, let's find you a bike!

Seconded! Buying a new 125 (rather lovely Yam XSR125 legacy no less!) was the single most stupid financial mistake of my life... And I've made many. Don't do it unless you have zero intent on taking your full bike license.

I wasn't even looking at bikes yet something this popped up in my feed. @hornetstinger whatcha think?

cheers that looks good. Too far to travel so it would be "buy blind"

Literally all you've got to do to stop it rusting in the winter is spraying it with a can of acf 50 and chucking a cover over it.
