There goes the McLaren teammate love. This is where the pressure starts winding up between them. I hate the Lando hate as it's just absolutely petulent, he's doing alright in my opinion. Oscar, penalty aside was going backwards a bit in the later stages but he would have won without the penalty I'm sure.

Still, it's shaping up to be a decent season battle between them now. I'm enjoying the races this year.

When the clerk of the course had declared that the safety car was coming in that lap
and the lights were extinguished, Car 81 suddenly braked hard (59.2 psi of brake
pressure) and reduced speed in the middle of the straight between T14 and T15, from
218 kph to 52 kph, resulting in Car 1 having to take evasive action to avoid a collision.
This momentarily resulted in Car 1 unavoidably overtaking Car 81, a position which
he gave back immediately.
Article 55.15 of the FIA Sporting Regulations required Car 81 to proceed at a pace
which involved no erratic braking nor any other manoeuvre which is likely to endanger
other drivers from the point at which the lights on the safety car are turned off.
What Car 81 did was clearly a breach of that article. In accordance with the penalty
guidelines, we imposed a 10 second time penalty to Car 81.

Can't be bothered to fix the pdf copy paste formatting from my phone :p

And I do indeed find it quite hard to enjoy current F1. With cars the length and weight of London buses, and stewards making stuff up on the fly, and tyres you can't properly push on, and neutered tracks, and for some reason F1 fandumb hoovering it all up like they've all got Stockholm syndrome and are convinced that it's actually halfway fun...

best to watch highlights or not at all lol , maybe next regulation change might excite you

That’s not just a little bit of braking, that’s a lot and clearly broke the rules. As much as I’d rather Oscar won the race, it wasn’t a ‘bs’ penalty as many people are saying.

It was one of the fairest penalties I have seen applied this season, given the race conditions and the fact it was behind the ending safety car with cars so close to each other.
