Some fragility appearing for Oscar... Lando again having the pace on him in the final stint (of which it has to be said he's had for the past few races) I can sense a slight change of the guard at the top. Max completely nowhere in that car and as for the poster said the car's not a tractor... exhibit A.

Crazy how this has caused all this uproar yet a few years ago it was totally fine for p2 to be alongside p1 on a SC restart :p
Legally it was ‘totally fine’ but one particular driver took it to the utter extreme and so the rules were changed.

In practice, it had been clear for quite some time that ‘totally fine’ as both you and I have described it was not fine and wasn’t very sporting. The rule change was a good thing.

It's probably because of how max handles the SC that Piastri and others deploy methods to keep him away from them on the re-start. Went a bit too far this time.

Indeed. If Lando can come out on top in a good scrap with Oscar then he’s really going to solidify his challenge for the WDC.

The car’s fine. This tractor talk is just another excuse to talk up the driver. He got pole at Silverstone, against those two McLaren’s. It’s a fast car, it simply can’t not be a fast car when you’re getting poles. The reason he struggled in the race was because of the lower downforce setup and cooler/wetter conditions.
Russell had a mare today , will he be at Mercedes next season ? rumours are max is set to replace him.
Nah, it’s a long form troll by Toto and George just to annoy Horner :p

The car has the potential but it was setup for low downforce in a wet race - so its rubbish

Max's car was set up much more dry biased than the others, which got him that pole yesterday but hurt him when it mattered.

Russell did fine. The terrible decision to pit pre-start ruined his race and then he took overly risky options from there to try and recover. Finished well ahead of Leclerc despite a slower car.

The car's fine haha have you heard yourself man did you watch any of FP1/FP2? The car was all over the shop and if it were in a position to not run the lower wing they wouldn't have ran it..

It is a fast car - just seems to have such a fine window to operate in. RB really need to make it have a better operating range.

Fun race to watch.

Very happy for Hulkenburg. Brilliant performance. Happy for Norris too.

Piastris's penalty seemed very harsh at first, but having read about it and watched it more it's maybe a penalty, but not 10 secs. Maybe a bit silly to do it in really wet conditions, but 10 seconds seems excessive, especially considering Max got the same for deliberately using his car as a weapon....

Lost respect for Oscar it when he asked to switch the positions. That was just silly.

Still, interesting to see a rare Max mistake straight after that. This race seemed to catch out the best. I think from his interview he knows it's over this year. The McLaren is too dominant and the gap is too big now really.

Shame for Lewis to miss out on the podium. The Ferrari seemed a handful in the wet. Leclerc had an absolute nightmare.

Total rubbish weekend for Merc too. Russell trying to be too clever all the time and wrecking his race.

There are multiple regulations and driving guidelines that have been created, added or amended thanks to Max Verstappen. As far as I'm aware, none added because of any other driver.

Just to be clear… You’re saying the car that has taken four pole positions this year in qualifying — which is by definition a test of exactly how fast a car can go over a single lap — you’re saying that’s a tractor? :o

They seem to know what they’re doing with it though. They gambled on the skinny wing for quality and it worked. The weather played against them for the race. It’s not like they’re throwing their hands up in the air wondering where it all went wrong.
He said it was 30psi which was what was agreed after GR done it.
I’m unclear if that was actually agreed — or if it was the only example Brundle had to hand?
