What specific model was the AMD card?

A Ti will use the new 12v-2x6 connector, whereas the AMD card will probably be using the old 8-pins (Sapphire Nitro does not).

Were you provided with all the power cables in the PSU box by OCUK?

Okay thank you but that's no biggie right? Easy to get hold of?
It depends how cable managed your build is and how accessible the PSU's modular panel is.

The easiest fix is probably just to leave the current cables in place and use the adapter in the 5070's box. This is the messiest option.

The cleaner option would be to fit the 16 pin cable (almost certainly the one labelled 600 watt) and run that straight to the card.

Yes indeed and Tetras has confirmed it can be done :)

So, did you end up going for a 5070 Nvidia GPU...?

When I last tried to use an AMD GPU it was fine with the AAA titles that I tried a tthe time, but was pretty bad with the Indie games I played. In the end, within two weeks, I had refunded it and gone to an Nvidia GPU.

Yes, arriving tomorrow, shall install it and then arrange for the AMD to be collected.

If there is one thing to learn from this thread, it's litsten to others with more knowledge than I ha. Would have saved me 2.5 weeks of pain.

At least you are now better informed, and there has been options :)

for many an AMD card will work great, with zero issues, just did not work out that way for me.

My Son ending up buying an Nvidia 5070Ti, upgrading from his 1080. Yes, he could have got a 9070XT cheaper, but that is not what he wanted.

Good luck

Yes tempted by the Ti, but let's be honest, not really necessary for classic wow :D

My Son got his 1080 when it first came out. It has lasted until now.
So, for now and for the many years he intends to keep it, he should have a usable card for some time.
