*** Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Thread (it can fold and everything) ***

What are peoples experiences like when trying to make a warranty claim with their fold phones? I'm reading that Samsung are pretty terrible and will do anything to try and get out of in warranty repairs. It's making me want to cancel my order to be honest.

100% fail, all of my folds have broken down the fold line and samsung/tmtfirst are utterly useless, I took them through court and got my money back the hard way but yielded a lot more money so more fool them

I took out insurance with them for the 1st time ever with my last fold. Fell over and smashed it to bits. Fixed straight away with no problems. Never had a warranty issue mind.

So looking forward to the Fold 7, then discovered there was no pen function. I would rather it was a mm thicker and included pen functionality. Going to skip this gen. Will probably look at the Honor Magic 5
Just my 2 cents.....

I've had the V3 since release and I'd recommend it to anyone. There's next to no bloat, all the default messaging/phone etc apps are the standard Google ones, stupidly thin and genuinely feels like a normal phone when closed. Battery lasts all day (6-7h screen on time) and charges very fast. The hinge doesn't feel too bad after just over 3000 folds (according to the fold counter app) and while I'm always nervous about it, the inner screen protector/crease is as good as the day I got the phone.

The Honor 'S pen' works well too :D

I have mobile insurance with my bank. Would something like that cover any issues? They have always been great with any previous claims that i've had to be honest.

I’m really tempted to take the plunge on the Fold 7—this would be my first folding phone. That said, I have some concerns: mainly around durability, and whether I’d actually enjoy the foldable form factor for everyday use. I’ve never been a tablet fan/user, and I’ve always preferred the largest traditional slab phones. On top of that, the 4,400mAh battery feels a bit underwhelming. Maybe I’d be better off just going with the S25 Ultra?

Though I won't be buying the Fold 7 as it does not support a pen function, if you don't need this feature once you use a fold you will never go back to a standard phone, imo they are so much better. Love them...

Dreadful from me, not with the phone but my watch.
Battery would only last 2 hours,
Replaced under warranty
One month after dead watch
Sent back, to be told, sorry it is damaged we cannot fix it

Condition was exactly the same I sent it to them the first time (pretty good), very suspicious to me that it suddenly died after they opened it.

I trust them so little I have been with no screen protector internally on my Z fold 4 for about a month, as no one else will replace it.

Jeez, I really don't know what to do. I've seen so many horror stories about repairs, unless you pay for their extra cover.

I got over my fear by cheecking my bank covered the insurance, so I would just use that.

For what it is worth I have had my fold 4 for over a year and think it is fantastic. it is open most of the time as home worker.
The inner screen protector , buying cases and losing stylus' are the main gripes.

I won't ever get a 7 as it does not support stylus, but I would consider a 6 if this died.

Agreed I have the Oppo Find N5 and its so usable - its my first foldable and I think ill be on this form factor unless something drastic happens from now on. The Find N5 is excellent by the way.

Absolutely. I had the Fold 4 and decided to change the the S25 Ultra. I wanted to go back to a fold immediately as miss the massive screen. Glad they improved the main camera this time.

I'm tempted by the fold 7, I'm hoping the camera won't be much of a downgrade compared to the S25 Ultra.

The screen size is the appeal for me, I do a lot of cycling and leave my phone in my back pocket so it can get a bit sweaty I'd hope this isn't issue for a fold?

Anyone know if the Backbone One will work with it ?

Off topic - I went to school in Chadderton.

If I didn't have an s25 ultra as well as a tab s9 ultra, which I mainly use for work, I would have gone for the z fold 7. However, not have spen support is a deal breaker to some extent.

Well ****** it I've done switch up and I'm going Z fold, hopefully I won't regret it, I'm itching to try a folding phone.

Might need to learn and get on top of cleaning though for this one!

@Chris344 I live near coleshaw green, you probably glad you're not in the area now it's gone a bit down hill.

I remember it well. I’m from Oldham and went to South Chadderton School. No doubt. I often visit family. I’ve lived in London now for around 18 years.

Absolutely. No pen support is the main deal breaker.
