*** Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Thread (it can fold and everything) ***

Well my Fold 5 inner screen started to tear in the middle. Been sent off for repair, as still under warranty. I heard I will get the screen protector replaced FOC, but more concerning is that the internal manufacturer protector started to peel away a little from the centre and caused the screen to start to go dark on one side, then come back light again.
Phone has been in a case since new, never dropped, etc.
 
After many months of using Fold 6.... My current take is .....

Always in the back of my mind the Folded screen will not last (2-3 years) - looks ok for now. After opening now in sunlight the fold is more viewable - I think so but could also seem placebo...... Think it depends on the sunlight and angle.
Did I get use to the thinner front screen - yes - no longer an issue although I think I always hit a couple of errors when typing sometimes.
Do I long for better cameras - yes - takes adequate shots but there's always a couple that are lacking detail and never quite right first time - opening up is good for viewing though.
Pen - never use it! (to be fair just like the S22 Ultra I had before)
Battery life - no issues day to day
Charging - Not really a problem - could be faster but not really affected me.
Screen protectors - my biggest gripe - have tried several and due to the design the front 'frame' is always flimsy and because they stick on you cant really swap out often. (Currently use the official Samsung one with pen holder)

Would I buy a fold again?
Depends on the deal price I guess - See what the Fold 7 and future is like... can only get better right?
I think it still feels like you 'think' you need a bigger screen and a pen but due to the strange size you don't really get to enjoy the full aspect ratio (netflix, youtube) etc - Pen...annoys me they took away the remote camera option!
 
I'm hoping the next fold is slightly wider on the front screen, as that's what i use the majority of the time.
To be honest.. I may revert to standard format phones as i ONLY use the inner screen to watch content. Which is once per day at the least.

Surely you could just turn the slab phone sideways and get the same screen size for media as playing it on an unfolded inner screen
 
Well since the latest update, my z fold 4 randomly crashes to desktop / main screen. Screen isn't going off as you can still see the side panel.

This is why I usually wait longer to install updates. Hah

Also I've been rocking no internal screen protector for a month or so now. Couldn't find anywhere local to replace it so gave up.
 
So guys my dads lovely fold 4 has decided to stop working
He also said randomly the phone would restart itself and for last few days it's been acting up whatever that means

Any idea what i can try or do next plz?

Thoughts......

what would you do with your next phone

1) Go back to a normal single screen phone (S25 Ultra and the like)
2) Upgrade 100% to the 7 instead of the 6 for a decent upgrade fee - how much more would you pay?
3) Happy with your Fold 6

1. Nah
2. If the 7 has a bigger front screen, and is under £750 to upgrade. I'd move to it.
3. I'm happy with my 6, but I like to upgrade.
 
So update guys

The flip 4 which is out of the 2 year warranty as soon as you close it or fold it the whole phone turns off
Then you either have to put on charge to turn on or even hold the power button for a long time

Any options or help plz?
