The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

so 71c at total stock setting is just like Hynix ram TBF i get 77c when playing battlefield @2600mhz fast timings

how dose ram hight affect the rad? unless you have a very strange case
Strange case? RAM height is a factor in every case with a top mounted AIO - but more so with the Arctic AIOs because the radiator is so thick.

From Arctic's own site: the maximum installation height of RAM modules must not exceed 37.5 mm when using an Arctic AIO.

i dont understand that, unless your motherboard as no spacing from the top of the case

Edit: 25mm rad with 30mm fans and i have room for another 45mm before ram would be a problem

You're using a pretty giant case, most ATX mid tower cases don't have that amount of space from the top of the motherboard. Your fans are essentially recessed into the top housing of the case right? Typical mid tower cases might have the rad in the top side but the fans would then be a little further down.

Here's the Arctic 240mm AIO in a Fractal case.

that's case is more designed for a 360mm in the front, thats why it as a big cut out in the front of the PSU cover.
looking at your photo the pump fan would be a problem before the ram but yes its close and i do get what your saying.

the case spec says:

GPU max length355 mm with front fan mounted /
300 mm with 360 mm front mounted radiator

on the Fractal site they do war about top rads and ram hight, just because you can put one there doesn't always mean you should

Depending on your CPU, i would be concerned about the top VRM heatsink getting no air flow

I have a very strange case, I posted this pic in another thread.

This is a Corsair H100i radiator in a Corsair 400C at the top.. so the Arctic rad has no chance going up top being around 13-14mm thicker, though Corsair say 360mm rads will fit in the front, but if I dont put it the right way up it will trigger @humbug  :p

Question for you guys.

Have just noticed i have no option screen to enter bios on first boot up, is this normal with a AMD GPU?

When i had the 3080 installed i always had the option to press delete to enter bios etc, now with the 9070 XT it is black screen until Windows loads.

Everything seems to work ok and i can enter bios if i mash the delete key during the black screen.

It may be that the 9070 XT takes a few seconds longer to show the BIOS screen - while the delay to boot has been set quite short (it defaults to one second on my ASUS X670E PG Lightning and I set it to three or four seconds to give me more time if I need to get in to the BIOS).

good chance you need a bios update buddy.

EDIT: i just seen your motherboard... yes its normal, i have the same board and it was a pain in the ass to get into bios and upon googling it its very normal..
bit of a random fix or it was for me, i was cleaning my pc and had everything unplugged from the back and hit power button by mistake. after Shut down down and plugging everything back in it just worked fine.
upon power loss eg: the psu been unplugged it would do the same again until i unplugged everything and let it boot loop.

I suddenly had something similar a while back with an nVidia GPU. The manufacturer's logo would show up, but there was no option to enter into BIOS. The solution was to download some kind of additional nvidia displayport drivers.

So, for you I'd recommend two things. First- try booting into the BIOS through the windows settings menu through Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Advanced startup > Restart now. After the restart, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings, then click Restart to enter the BIOS.

In my case, the UEFI firmware settings option was not available, and only the additional drivers solved it. So, if you have the same issues, check if AMD has some kind of additional displayport drivers, besides the usual ones from Adrenalin. If not, you may have to either DDU or see if you can do a BIOS update (might require extra software or reinstalling the old card).

   yes because the drivers in bios and all that

i do get what your saying though, there as been a few cases in the passed where card had to be updated(BIOS) to work with UEFI, my lock down £600 RX6600xt had to be removed from my system to use the iGPU to get into bios.

I really am not joking. I lost access to the BIOS until I installed those additional drivers. I tried spamming the keys during the launch and it would not go into BIOS. I tried through the windows settings and the BIOS button was missing. Those displayport additional drivers/utility is what solved my issue. I do not know how it solved the issue, but it did. Do keep in mind I had normally working nVidia drivers and the nVidia app.

So having grabbed the Pulse 9070XT for £559.99 from here the other day for my AM4 build I have to say it's a banger of a card. I'm impressed with it after getting everything sorted. Using a Gigabyte Aourus elite and 5600X CPU it drives my Samsung G9 @ 5120x1440p nicely. Very impressed at how games are running. And that's with only 16 gig Ddr4 3200mhz ram. I've got a 32 gig 3600mhz steel legend kit coming I bought and a 5800X3D too, so it's going to be banging! :D My other pc with a 4090 and 7800X3D is gathering dust.

I don't get the option on my MSI B650 gaming plus WiFi since I got the 9070XT

Had a look in bios and can't see any option for Boot Delay.

Will try this later. (did not work for me)

Can't see any additional drivers.

Thanks for the response guys.
I am on the latest bios and Windows is up to date barring the 24H2 update.

Sorry for the late reply, Virgin Media went down. :(
