from what I can see its bike + accessories up to X amount.I thought you could get components on C2W? Main problem is so many places discount stuff down that C2W becomes redundant i found.

I used Balfes Bikes for my C2W - get the discounted price, no surcharge and the 40% off through tax savings. Bit of a no brainer thereI thought you could get components on C2W? Main problem is so many places discount stuff down that C2W becomes redundant i found.
Most are just some kinda plastic. probably with some cordage in the middle for strength... Many of them you disassemble and it's just knotted each end, so if it's snapped close to an end you could even get away with shortening it.Yeah the metal wire has snapped.
Oh £30 for Assos gloves is good! I begrudge when £60 premium gloves (although I got them in a deal for 45) have poorly stitched joins, got replacements and they where better but then had an extra overlap of material on the focal point of the hand between thumb/forefinger so rubbed the 1 hand. Got more replacements and they had the same poor/loose stitching as the 1st pair but even worse than that the thread was broken so they immediately pulled apart. Gave up and re-stitched them myself to repair. Wouldn't expect Castelli to have rubbish QC but 3 pairs with faults in a row was a joke!Didn't mind paying £30 for them. They seem decent from the last ride as well.
Yeah it could have been worse for sure. I just heard a big "whoosh" as the air all came out of his tyre(s) at once. Then obviously swearing.![]()

this in particular, has the 1x groupset I like, is the right price.. wife may drop it on her cycle2work scheme..
can't say if it's an upgrade from the https://www.boardmanbikes.com/gb_en/products/2400-adv-9.2.html or not but it's a classy looking bike, wonder how it'll ride
Shop discretion and I think even some of voucher types are different so some they can use as 'credit' others have to be redeemed against a bike from their suppliers so can't be messed around withI thought you could get components on C2W?
Same. I basically got some £2,900 wheels for about £1,100 from them...I used Balfes Bikes for my C2W - get the discounted price, no surcharge and the 40% off through tax savings.
£2,900 wheels though!Same. I basically got some £2,900 wheels for about £1,100 from them...

I've just ordered some tyres and realised i'm actually too fat for themWeight limit is 100kg and me plus bike is probably around 110Kg

You'll feel the carbon sole upgrade immediately. I went from a decent pair of lace up Rapha shoes to the Shimano S-Phyre (in white of course) and you can feel the improved power transfer.Too much muscle and power you mean! We can't all be Clydesdales
Really bummed out about my shoes being a little too tight as it's quite sunny today and would've been a decent test. Quite tempted to take them for a trial run but I'm 99% sure that the next size up will be a better fit.
Bit of a 'Captain Obvious' moment but even just trying them on it was apparent how much stiffer a carbon sole is compared to a nylon sole. Even with my noodle-arms I can get the nylon sole to flex a small amount. Zero with the caron. How that will translate to feel on the bike I'm not sure but I do know I have one less reason to blame on being slow other than my ability![]()

But you've got a Boardman, she has a Ribble. She loves your Boardman. So you're talking of selling the Ribble and then buying another Ribble to replace your Boardman, man logic!
If you both like the Boardman, why not buy 2 of them... His&Hers!![]()
dunno if sram and shimano cassettes are interchangeable, I think they may be compatible as i've just learned I got an XDR hub for elite wheels and the boardman runs the cheaper HG cassette so wheels wont fit.. lol. But it should fit ribble cassette.
yeah I checked the freebody on the elite wheels and it does come off, so I can pull the XDR one off and get a HG one for 30ish quid on aliexpress, compared to paying £120ish for an XDR cassette that my bike actually was meant to come with.. duur. No, separate free bodies which is an annoyance i've found in the past!
honestly, think you'll be fine.. it's a limit but I bet you it was tested above that. Many bikes funny enough have 100/110kg limit in general never mind the tire.I've just ordered some tyres and realised i'm actually too fat for themWeight limit is 100kg and me plus bike is probably around 110Kg
Incentive to diet!
Although seriously i'm wondering what buffer is built into this or whether i need to scale back (Tyres in question are Schwalbe RS Pro https://www.schwalbe.com/en/Schwalb...zYH00K0NMPfJMf3k3rsHAG7H4GxMTUIx_VaqhYlAhGbV_)
EDIT - Unless it's talking per tyre, in which case my rider+bike weight/2 is well under spec, but would be very weird to do it that way when bikes need 2 tyres!
that's some great man mathsAlso, i've not spent another small fortune on some suspension forks for my bike. I know it doesn't really belong in here but you're all stuck with my Gravel based musings!
My current "road" bike is actually built around a gravel frame, as my initial plan was to have 2 wheelsets for each terrain. I never quite got around to that though. As i've mentioned my plan is to buy a new bike specially suited to gravel. However i also told the wife that i wasn't going to do this for a while. This restricts my riding in the short term on some off road terrain. Estimated cost ~€4.5-5k (1500 for a frame, 1000 for groupset, 1000 for wheelset, 500 for handlebars, 500 for suspension fork, 300 for "other bits" handlebars etc)
I spoke to a few people with my frame who've squeezed 50mm tyres into my current frame (official limit is 45mm). Since i've only just had the tubeless resealed on my current wheels it seems daft to refit new tyres, and so I've bought a new wheelset and the Schwalbe tyres above. I've also bought the Rockshox Rudy 40mm gravel fork.
In theory this makes the bike 90% of the way to what i want for my gravel bike. Only real change might be to switch out to a bigger cassette and the rear and go 1x.
I can then ride around on it for a while. It seems that the fork is stiff enough that it's not unpleasant for the road, and hopefully the tyres are good enough to not feel too draggy. All being well it works and i don't need anything else. If i decide it's too compromised on the road i'll either buy a road based frame or move this back to a road bike and get a gravel frameset. Decision likely will be based on what i think will take up most of my time.
