Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

The Amazon Household restrictions / requirements like payment sharing to actually be useful are ridiculous compared to the old sharing :( in my experience when you start "nickel and diming" type approaches like this it inevitably leads to decline rather than increase profits i.e. the people I had on my old sharing account (who are part of my household) will increasingly just take their custom elsewhere.
How does payment sharing work? I vaguely recall something about payment sharing when I linked an account to my Amazon household years ago, but I've never been able to see their payment cards in my account.

AFAIK you have to enable payment sharing, I don't think it is on by default, but not having it on means that a bunch of Prime features aren't shared (I'm not sure if some like Prime only deals are even shared with payment sharing on). I've not actually checked if you can see each other's payment details if enabled (which would be against the terms and conditions of most banks, etc.) but it definitely means you can use each other's wallet to fund purchases which is a whole minefield of its own.

Whoever came up with the Amazon Household approach needs slapping around the head repeatedly and would fit right in with the muppets working on Windows development.

I definitely can't use the other account's wallet/payment method when I go to checkout and can't see anything other than my own card in the account payments section. I believe I did have to agree to share payment methods when I linked the account to my household but it's never actually shared them.

This Household sharing is pretty much useless - loads of stuff the other account can't get Prime delivery on and/or it is trying to sneakily make them sign up for Prime... again whoever involved in this at Amazon needs slapping around the head repeatedly.

Do you have any examples that I can test on my linked household account? I don't use the other account myself but I never had any complaints that they can't get Prime delivery on something.

They were looking at mosquito netting earlier and a lot of them don't have Prime delivery on their end including one of the promoted ones: https://www.amazon.co.uk/MOEGFY-Mosquito-Self-Adhesive-Protector-Multiple/dp/B085C28ZS3 which shows Prime delivery for me.

EDIT: Sorry should be saying Amazon Family above, Household is the older version of it.

What's the best way to complain or contact Amazon and get someone sensible?

Long story short I bought something, a medical product as such, from Amazon sold by Amazon, which has given me rather nasty chemical burns.

Edit: nevermind got through. I've let them know about it, they refunded it but if I'm honest that wasn't what I was particularly bothered about, they need to know they are selling stuff that can give you pretty nasty chemical burns. I'm quite surprised in this day and age, given all the standards for medical products.

I'm also not the type who is usually susceptible to this sort of thing.

You can raise a complaint under their A-Z guarantee.

Email trading standards in your area, they will take action on that kind of stuff.

Cheers yea good shout, I will do that tomorrow. I'm gonna call the doctor tomorrow as well because it's pretty grim. I've got photos but you REALLY don't want to see plus I'm not looking for medical advice on this forum.

Was it a blow up doll?

I dont think amazon are the people to complain to if you think its a unsafe product, of course medical products usually have side effects of some sort, the issue will be if burns are not listed as a risk of using the product.

Yeah I have already called trading standards and logged a thing.

Also spent 2 hours in hosptal this morning being traated for burns.

See what they say, I dont expect much to happen but at least I have reported it.

what did you buy

I spend reliably on amazon that they started offering me 12months interest free credit on even high value purchases.
it seems my limit on a first purchase is around £1999

That's kinda crazy, I had an amazon account for probably over a decade mind.
probably spend a 100-300 a month.

but anyway I saw it as a really smart choice so I ordered a 1400 camera on 12months :D then got like 800 in lens/accessories pure cash outta me though.

Moron Amazon Logistics drivers at it again. Delivery came today. Instructions say to leave the item in the porch, which is always open when I'm expecting deliveries, so instead of that he tapped on the front room window (where I was sat) then put the parcel right in front of the porch door so when I tried to open the door it got jammed underneath and blocked the door forcing me to intentionally damage the box to get the door open. ******* idiot then said 'I didn't think it was open' when I challenged him. How did you not think it was open? You didn't even try the handle!

I ***** hate Amazon Logistics. Worst delivery company ever!

Why is the Amazon search filter system so ******* ****? I'm looking for 33x700c inner tubes and there's literally no option whatsoever to narrow the search results beyond manufacturer. I'm pretty sure that somewhere in the company Amazon employ some really smart people, so how can they not see that not having a functioning filtering system on a shop that sells millions of items is an issue?

Perhaps try a ‘proper’ retailer rather than continuing to support a global conglomerate who participates in anti-competitive practices and is owned by a tech oligarch.

There I said it.
