Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

I’ve ordered a lot of alcohol from Amazon in the past and they always just ask for year of birth, today I was out so someone else took in my alcohol drinks order and the driver wanted to see actual ID. Despite person being clearly over 18.

Anyone know of if this a new thing or just the driver being a bit over cautious?

I had to show ID a year or two ago for some vape atomisers of all things.

You don't even need to be 18 for those and I certainly look older.

Unfortunately.

Ah, perhaps driver was just following instructions to the T, and most of them just ask for a year of birth to speed things up.

amazon Logistics going downhill again, delivery times have been getting later and later again, getting past the 8pm point. So I guess back to only ordering stuff for weekend or pre 1pm delivery. (or same day if I actually want it late).

Although to be fair they still do actually deliver, so not on the same level as DPD, who just hit the skip button.

Amazon did that to me earlier this week - 'Still arriving Today' right up until the end of the day, then 'Delivery Tomorrow'. Tomorrow comes and the estimated delivery time is a huge 4hr slot which they extended as it was late. You could waste a lot of time waiting on a delivery if you have to be in the house to accept it.

Sounds about right. My Amazon deliveries are very regularly very late afternoon up to 9pm and almost the only time I get a delivery before then is if there's one on a 'before 1pm' slot.

I can't say the same about DPD though as they have always been good here.

I've had that twice this year I think. Extremely annoying when you're waiting for something.

DPD are fine if I order to a shop drop off, the habit seems to be if you at a hard address, they will drop, as DPD are still on an outdated system where if they fall behind they wont adjust the delivery window, so to avoid getting past it they skip parcels to catch up.

Problem is some sellers, block the option to choose a different drop off, locking you in to failed delivery loops.

DPD exec office to be fair admitted my depot is a known problem depot, and are working on new management for it (however still refused to give me number for it). I think we could benefit from regulation where sellers are forced to have multiple courier choices for customer to choose from, that would be proper competition, instead of retailers having exclusivity deals with one courier company, and in some cases not even declaring who is delivering the parcel until the tracking info comes.
