Cyberpunk 2077

I personally think that Phantom Liberty is one of the finest DLCs ever made and well worth the extra time and investment for the complete CP2077 experience.
I still need to pick it up. It’s on sale as well so I’ll grab it I think.

Turned into a great game in the end. Shame about the broken launch.

I’ve bought this twice. PC and PS5. I’ve struggled every time to get into it. No clue why tbh. As I should like it.

I had the exact same issues when trying to play it on PC but recently started it up on PS5 (Pro - albeit there is no real benefit from running it on the pro right now) and now around 40% through the main story line.

Genuinely enjoying doing the missions and just wandering around Night City.

I think the issue I had was every time I ran it on the PC I was pixel peeping / FPS watching rather than playing the game. I would start a mission or go for a wander and wonder what would happen if I messed with X or Y setting. Be halfway through a side quest and be thinking "hmmm I think my FPS should be better".

Now I am just turning on the PS5 and playing the game. Looks more than good enough at sofa distance on my QLED/ HDR TV and runs spot on in performance mode with VRR.

It's not for me this. 63 gig download to get it going today then an interactive movie of go to that marker press x, then go to that one and press x, wait for him to say something and press x to reply but make sure you are standing close enough to him or you'll both just repeat the same phrase when you press x. Made it through the combat tutorial but gave up part way through the hacking one although at least I got to press LB in between the x presses so can't say the game isn't varied!

The opening couple of hours of the game are somewhat linear and can make you feel like you don't have many choices, but after a certain point the game opens up and you can put the main story on hold to explore and do side missions etc, and there are lot of those and they are quite varied. CP2077 is a brilliant game but can take a little time to take hold and gel.

Act I is pretty much a tutorial and story setup really therefore it can seem pretty linear as @Ashley says.

It's not until you get the Cyberpunk 2077 logo splash screen and Act II starts that you're actually playing the game.

I would suggest trying to bare with it until you're at least free roaming.

E: Hell, it may turn out that it's just not for you but I'd urge you to hold out a bit. I've found it blummin awesome even though I didn't wet my pants when I first started it up.

For PS5 and Pro. The latest patch provides unlocked VRR modes with displays that support 120hz.

I tried this yesterday and Performance on the Pro certainly runs in the high 80s now and according to Digital Foundry, the game averages ~83fps in this mode.

Quality now runs at 40fps too, although I could not really the graphical difference.

The RT mode is really an odd one as it apparently enabled RT close (contact) shadows and maybe higher crowd density (Read online but not noticed myself), but otherwise has very similar graphical settings to performance mode (Equivalent to PC Medium / high defaults). The drop in actual performance is bizarre given the visual changes are barely noticeable.

Perhaps I was too hasty. May gave it another go tomorrow. It’s just that I finished God of War yesterday and this seems very boring in comparison. Not really the thread to moan but I’m just waiting for Ready or Not to drop, for some reason it’s not released in Australia until 8th August.

Had a bit of a far go on 2.3 and I can't put my finger on it but I'm sure it seems to be taking its time in drawing distant objects sometimes.

There also appears to be quite a few NPC vehicles just randomly doing the self destruction countdown and blowing up. (E: and this is just quiet npcs or unused cars not involved in any kerfuffle)

Definitely more quirky than before the patch, certainly didn't notice any of this in the previous 300+ hours.

20hrs in, I'm partially feeling the game. Still working with Takemura at the moment in Act2 whilst trying to do a heap of side quests to boost my income. Only Lv22 so far. NPC ai is just utterly dumb af, perhaps the worst I've seen in a game.

I do love driving around and exploring in my Quadra Type66 Hoon. I think this aspect is gelling with me faster than all the cybernetic implants end of things thus far.

Was going to try this as its free on plus.

Made a character . Seemed childish with being able to customise my genitals.
Was fixing my car and talking to a cop. Stopped there. Looked a bit ****.

Playing deus ex mankind dividend at the moment.

:D Even I managed to get past that bit! I didn’t notice the customisable genitals though

I mainly got this game to test my new pc, but at 9 hours in I'm still finding it confusing to know what to do, I keep aggroing police by accident, and it just feels like a chore so I'm not going to continue.

It's a pretty good game and does have quest pointers. If you ain't feeling it, just steam through the main missions but you will miss out on some classic gonk sides. I did not gel with me the first time around but came back to it after the 2.0 update and really enjoyed it and I played most of it stealthily which worked for me. Plugged over 100 hours in to it with the DLC.

I did this during the first 10mins of the demo. There's two cops outside Barry's apartment close to V's. I went upto them hoping I could interact with them but instead I grabbed one...yeah that went down well. Then a few days ago as mentioned, I bought the game cheap for £13 and did the same thing again by accident!

I am Lv35 now (35hrs played) ingame having focused hard on side quests and hitting on Panam. I may have mentioned this but I've never seen a buggier game - not since Fallout NV. Every single play sessions I've witnessed and taken screens of npc bugs, vehicle bugs just all sorts really.

Having said that, I am enjoying the game but I find a lot of patience is needed at times.

Apparently this runs well on the base M4 Mac Mini...I am tempted to buy it again when it's on sale next time on steam.
The performance for the power draw does seem pretty good. Maybe they can resolve some of the stuttering eventually.
