Summer Transfer Window 25/26 *Sponsored by Bigpig*

It's about time the Saudis started helping Newcastle out rather than bailing out teams like Aston Villa who are a direct threat to the position we want to be in. Hopefully they buy Isak for $300m and then loan him back to us. If there isn't a rule against that then they'll soon invent one so better get the deal done quick.

Like I said... the difference in opinion between those that have watched him regularly vs those boiling him down to xG overperformance. If he was purely an xG overperformer than United would have got away with paying a lot less.

He underperformed his xG by 5.5 in his first season in the Prem, whilst the season before last he was on for ~15 non-penalty goals before he got injured and missed almost half the season. His impact at both ends of the pitch makes him a complete player - only second to Salah, and miles ahead of third, for progressive passes received, whilst led the division for tackles in the defensive third for any forward. Add twenty goals from the wing into that and he's an elite performer at this level.

Trust me, United have got a bargain.

I dont really care what the costs involved are - thats up to the club to decide if they're happy with the price. I'm just sad I won't get to see him play for Brentford anymore... it's been a great six year spell. Oh well, just bought my ticket for our opener away at Forest, so that's something to look forward to!
This lad is such a good poster in here and often gets lost amongst the bickering and toing and froing between Man Utd and Liverpool fans.

You're not wrong (either post). I kind of just expect him to wake up with this kind of move and actually have a decent year, so it might look incredibly cheap come June. Good for United to move on from it/him finally though. What a disappointment indeed.

You would hope Utd will put in a pretty large sell on clause for going so cheap

This Isak thing is a bit depressing.

I can see why players go at the end of their careers to rake as much money in as they can, I get that.

But to see a player go who appears to be in peak form... Doesn't sit well with me that.

Edit

(I'm assuming he is going here, just reading the headlines, not delved further)

Football is so weird at times.

Rashford after being awful for years and basically only having one good season is getting a step up to Barca despite not being wanted at his club.

Madness.

I honestly couldn't care. His wages are being paid for and if he does well we get 26 million out of nothing. Sometimes it is just better to draw a line in the sand.

Yep. Just want to see the end of it now. Hes representative of everything that been wrong at the club for a long time. Overpaid, overindulged with a lack of focus on football.

I completely agree...;)

Unfortunately my once global football knowledge only extends to one team nowadays. It's what happens when you get old and stop playing Football Manager.

One thing I will say is that I've noticed that when we were in League One, I used to pay loads of attention to both L2 and the Championship, with obvious exposure to the EPL. When we got promoted to the Championship, I sadly dropped any L2 knowledge. And now we're an established Premier League side, I now know **** all about any other division. It's a bit depressing really!

Still lots of noise that we can expect more incoming, damn exciting times these.

I do find it amusing that lots of social media bellends are complaining we're finally spending big, this is the 1st season we've spent over 200m. There have been 7 clubs that have done it before us - man city/chelsea/man utd/arsenal/spurs/newcastle and brighton!
