Although that he’s most certainly off, he’s been carrying something since may.

Howe overused him in the back end of the season.

Isak leaving is a massive blow to Newcastle and would be a backwards step for the club given how their recent recruitment has been going (Or not, as the case may be)

3 years left on his contract and a World Cup year, he isn’t going to down tools, so has to be the £150m
Not being funny but he’s kind of downed tools already. Whether he can be pulled back onside in the event he doesn’t leave remains to be seen but it’s been clear since the other day that he’s kicking up a bit of a fuss in an attempt to force a move.

I mean this in the least patronising way possible but it might be in your interests to cash in. The profit from his sale will give you a huge amount of headroom from a psr point of view for the next 3 years that will allow you to build a squad, potentially, consolidating your place in the top 4 and setting you up longterm.

A backwards step would mean that they had taken it. He still has three years left on his contract and paying him £300k a week just isn't realistic for them. You can't force a player to stay if they have higher ambitions or a bigger club comes calling then...

He's not replaceable, but an injection of cash could result in a squad that's better all round, with more depth for the Champions League.
