What TV shows are you currently watching

Currently either watching or just watched:

Zero Day - Kind of interesting but feels a big like a big load of nothing.
Untamed - Was OK but once the main plot started to come together it kind of exploded into a tangled web which felt too tacked on by that point and didn't pay off.
The Institution - Too early to say but finding some of the characters get increasingly grating as it goes on.
Dexter Resurrection - Decent.
Foundations S3 - As with previous seasons the Empire stuff and 1-2 other threads are great, some of the rest is quite weak.

Wayward Pines.

I'm only one episode in, but it seems rather good so far.

One of a small number of shows I wish I could blank my memory of and watch as if for the first time.

Hacks
Drama comedy. Wealthy cynical aging comedian employs a young, poor joke writer. Had promise but too American for us so we gave up after a couple of episodes.

Well this was interesting as it basically confirmed a long held belief I've had.

Last night I watched 3 episodes of Police Squad, had a good laugh then decided to check how many episodes there were. Was amazed to find there were only ever 6 episodes and it was cancelled after the 4th episode aired. A reason given for the cancellation (which a tv mag gave as the most stupid reason for ending a show) was that people had to pay attention to what was going on onscreen to get some of the jokes. Leslie Nielson apparently later said he thought it was better suited to the big screen rather than the tv as there was more screen space for people to notice what was going on.

I've always found American humour to be very "in your face" like the joke has to be made blatantly obvious or people might not get it, the cancellation of this kind of confirmed that.

"Going to Mississippi, Gonna see Delilah"

You have to be concentrating to catch this joke in the scene it plays as you will certainly miss it it if aren't.

I started Untamed yesterday and have 1 episode left to watch. So far I thought it was pretty good. It will be in tersting to see how you felt it was tacked on.

Started that new series Bollard on Amazon Prime, only 1 episode but not sure I will continue, wasn’t feeling it.

Might have to sub to Netflix soon and catch up on a few things again. Untamed looks good and need to watch squid games season 3.

Watched the first episode of Severance last night, enjoyed it but wondered if it is going anywhere or just going to be a bit weird while the writers try to think of more weirdness rather than an actual story, any know?

Love the typo, unless this is a show about traffic controlling measures? Out of interest, are you a fan of Bosch and The Lincoln Lawyer? As a read of his books, I'm really looking forward to Ballard, but want to finish Bosch Legacy S3 before I move on to Ballard... and want to finish the books BL S3 is based on before I do that.

I never watched them. Maybe this picks up, I thought episode 1 was quite slow, not much happened.

In which case you should start with Bosch. That's the best of all them. Then move on to Bosch Legacy, then Ballard. Watching Bosch, you'll get to know the characters and some of the storylines that drive the others.

IMO Bosch is a little dated now for its 8.5/10 rating, but it's still a solid show, and beats 99% of procedural cop shows out there.

Ballard the Bosch spin off series. About 6 episodes in, cliched and slow. Bosch started well, the best bit Maddie during the early series, she was less annoying.

Swap Bosch's pad that has an awesome LA vista. Ballard has an epic Malibu sea view. Main character is intense with a (troubled) back story just like Bosch.

Also Amazon Prime advert spam, cancelation of Prime is looming.
