Upcoming Concerts

Anyone watching the Sabbath back to the beginning concert?
Couldn't get tickets so live streaming is the next best thing.

Been a good start, have to say Halestorm were excellent.
I'm here :D the whole performance has so much energy

[Edit] I think the concert is +2hrs over the live stream?

[Edit2] Supergroup 2 was an absolute treat!

I'm not sure where the stream is but I saw some clips on Youtube. Some decent stuff. Lizzy Hale is a great singer and I thought she did a good job on the Ultimate Sin. Was surprised how good Steven Tyler was - he's seventy ****** seven! He actually sang incredibly well and moved like a 40 yo. Nuno Bettencourt is a beast - not someone I've listened to a lot but I'll be remedying that. Not sure I want to see a sedentary Ozzy - tbh it's a miracle he's alive

Managed to get tickets this morning for Metallica on the Sunday in London next year having missed out on the two-day tickets. I'm a "casual" metal fan (I like all genres) so Metallica have been on my bucket list for a while now. Super excited and well happy to get standing tickets too :D I just hope I'm not disappointed by the setlist. I have to say I really didn't like the idea of a no-repeat weekend. I know they have a massive catalogue but so do a lot of bands. It feels like a cash grab to make people spend more tbh.

I've also got The Libertines (+Supergrass, Soft Play and others) in a couple of weeks, and Refused in October. And some local blues and jazz festivals in my local park which should be fun.

Managed to get tickets for Metallica for the Cardiff show - however just seating which was a shame as would prefer to be standing!

After seeing them at the Back to the Beginning gig am very much looking forward to that!

Refused should be good! Saw them a few years back (ouch...6 years ago!) when they did a co-headline tour with Thrice (was there for Thrice tbh) was a great gig and "New Noise" was an absolute banger live and properly got the room going!

Off to Imagine Dragons tomorrow at Spurs stadium, but of a change in tune from the last few gigs ive been too (Trivium & Bullet / Linkin Park / Elbow / Back to the Beginning) but more in tune with my daughters tastes!

Nice. Thrice were one of my favourite bands back in the day, must have seen them 5-6 times. Not sure how that gig passed me by!

Basement Jaxx coming up towards the end of August with my old man and mates, buzzing for it! Will be the second time seeing them and they do put on a show.

Enjoying the BBC6 90s rave weekend.

Got me thinking….any OCUK middle aged ravers around? Seemed back in the 90s that most uber nerds were into metal rather than electronic.

Mid 40s now and still enjoy a good session. I got to the Fatboy Slim weekend at Butlins in November which is a good vibe, lots of just sound (old) people that know how to have a good time. I realised that the guys I go with I’ve now known for 40+ years :|

The Soul Buggin nights in Nottingham are really decent too, me and the missus try to get to them when we can.

Going All Points East for the Macabbees in a couple weeks which should be good.

Well Oasis on Saturday at Murrayfield was probably one of the best concerts I've ever been to! The band and support acts were so amazing, proper 90s nostalgia.

The atmosphere in the stadium was absolutely electric.

Next up Coldplay at Wembley on the 27th August.

Was at All Points East on Sunday, missus is a big Maccabees fan and hadn't managed to see them before.

Got ourselves front and center for their headline set, really good, just a quality indie-pop band, great catalogue. Jamie T popped up too. Shame the audio crapped out a couple of times mind.

Watched CMAT beforehand mostly out of curiosity, not really my bag, but she is a great performer, great voice, big stage presence. Caught a bit Everything Everything who were a huge pile of meh.

Back to my wheelhouse on Friday, Soul Buggin' night in Nottingham, back to de house music.

Always think it's a sign of a great performer when they can bring people along for the ride even when it's not their type of music.

Saw Pet Shop Boys a couple of years ago, they wre amazing.

Coldplay was last Wednesday night at Wembley, it really was a fantastic gig and experience.

Next up Bastillie in November.
