Summer Transfer Window 25/26 *Sponsored by Bigpig*

Ah i didn't know that. Fair enough. I assumed it was due to the transfer speculation
the whole speculation is based on him not going with the club. even though all the twitter journalists surely knows hes injured..

do liverpool even wanna spend 150mil or whatever on a player who was missing on the pitch like half the games towards the end of the season because he was carrying an injury and couldn't play properly?
someone people already thought had a high injury rate before newcastle signed him anyway.

and seems he still has the same injury months later. probably sciatica or something like that since it's ongoing.

He doesn't have an injury. Scans show nothing. Also worth noting that Hall travelled with the team and he does.

that doesn't mean he doesn';t have an injury it just means its not serious enough to show on a scan, they wouldn't do a scan unless there was a reason to look.

Really, it depends what you read.

It's all speculation in any case

Injury claim 'ridiculous' - Shearer

Newcastle legend Alan Shearer said the claims that Isak's absence from their Asia tour are injury-related are "ridiculous".

The former England striker, who scored a record 206 goals for the Tyneside club, believes they should have been open about the situation.

"It's ridiculous what Newcastle put out this morning to say he wasn't on the trip because of a slight thigh injury," said Shearer.

why would they risk it coming back in friendlies? why was he training with lewis hall who also was recovering from an injury instead of the team then?

shearer probably just thinks they'd take him anyway for the PR value even if he doesn't play

Ahh, the mythical injury that doesn't show up on scans and let's someone train, but is serious enough to prevent them from travelling

totally unbelievable that he could have groin or thigh problem again right? can we get that 150mil please before the season starts.

this will probably be the last season hes ever worth that.

so you think he has a sportsmans hernia? seems quite likely, I once had sciatica, was a nightmare to recover from, kept coming back anytime I tried to get back on a bike...

had to stop riding for 3 months before it finally stopped returning, it's plausible they are being extremely cautious

btw he played something like 500 minutes less than salah last season, and hes far younger so don;t try and come with hes been over played.

no on going issues its all made up even going back as far as april and earlier in the year

But Howe took him off on 66 minutes, just after Bryan Mbeumo equalised for the Bees with a penalty, and explained why after the match.

“On another day, he’d have scored more,” Howe said. "I don’t think he was 100%, which is why we withdrew him. We hope it is nothing serious.

“He wasn’t 100% with his groin. He was a bit unsure with his movements.”

Isak had missed a number of other chances in the game, and sharpness is a huge part of what makes him so effective. Groin issues have plagued him in the past, particularly last season when he struggled to reach his peak levels.

Rather than pushing him to his limits, Howe is determined to prevent long-term damage by being more cautious with Newcastle in contention for a return to the Champions League with nine league matches remaining.

150mil please? he would be fine at liverpool cos you can rotate him and manage his on going issues better.

your assuming he reads social media or cares what appears on there.

also he wanted abetter contract last year? its great bargaining power for him even if he wants to stay.
which we don;t know whether he does or not.. unless we are supposed to trust a twitter source... as said.. farming clicks for income as a living.
As you say, we'll find out in time whether he wants to go or whether the sources lied.

Wow only just catching up with all this, but we really been seen off by Liverpool here ha done the dirty with Ekitike and now Isak going there probably.

In a way we have kind of stood still for a couple of years now in regards to the squad, I think it’s probably the right time to lose a “star” player. I personally think this is the highest value we can get for one player, so selling now is in the longer term the better decision. Especially with all the PSR nonsense.

I have another thought on this too, I don’t think Isak will be consistently amazing either, I think his long term fitness will become more problematic over the future years and I doubt he would ever do a full season on fire. That’s just my hunch. Not blaming him for wanting to leave either, it’s correct that footballing careers are short and some shorter than others (I don’t see him being a Ronaldo being top level mid to late 30s) and going to a club to win multiple trophies and more money is acceptable in my eyes. We have had great memories of him albeit short but let’s get him sold for silly money and we need to move on now it’s pointless trying any other avenue now

His fitness might improve though, modern medicine is a wonderous thing, could just be that his injuries seem bad because of his location, dont you lot still use leeches and ritual expulsion of dark spirits up that far North? :p
