It does get moved 1.5 meters every 5 years. My dad took me when I was a teen and you could park up just off the a303 and it was a 20 second walk.
Interesting fact, the yearly summer solstice event where the weirdos go to dance around it whilst high on magic mushrooms (and other hallucinogens) is allowed because amongst all the new age hippies, druids, white witches and other assorted weirdos there is always a handful of men and women from the ministry of big stones and other heavy things, who perform the rite of "ah my foot" where they recreate the dance and curses from when one of the stones fell during it's original construction, thus triggering the slow movement for another year.
Legend has it that if you put your ear to the correct stone when the moon hits it just right, you can still hear the echo of the original cries of annoyance and pain even after thousands of years.
