Aircooled will probably have better resale demand/valueGuys? What would you buy? The RTX 5090 MSI SUPRIM air-cooled or the SUPRIM Liquid? The AIO version has a short lifespan, right?
Feel free to throw it in my trash...Yes, Gigabyte offers 4 years warranty,
but after 4 years, when the pump stops working, the card might have to be thrown in the trash. That’s what bothers me.
Non question for you then? Get air cooled, straightforward install and bargains out there now.Yes, Gigabyte offers 4 years warranty,

That pump is probably not repairable on the AIO GPU, right?Non question for you then? Get air cooled, straightforward install and bargains out there now.
Watercooling AIO is for less noise and more performance potentially, pushing the heat directly outside the case, without the hassle of full loop. Anything goes wrong with the pump after 4 years then I'd replace it or put a waterblock on it...
Replaceable...That pump is probably not repairable on the AIO GPU, right?
Don't really care tbh, everything is repairable if u want. If its out of warranty and I still have it in 4 years, cough, I ll put a waterblock on it...For waterblock? Or original pump? I think Gigabyte doesn’t repair the pump
But will a waterblock still be available in a few years? Have you tried FurMark?Don't really care tbh, everything is repairable if u want. If its out of warranty and I still have it in 4 years, cough, I ll put a waterblock on it...
This is what puts me off AIO GPUs (along with the potential resale challenges), not to mention, having some fan noise can be an advantage to drown out coil whine on the 5090sYes, Gigabyte offers 4 years warranty,

Haha, no coil whine when gaming after initial mental fps loading, and the quietest I've heard...This is what puts me off AIO GPUs (along with the potential resale challenges), not to mention, having some fan noise can be an advantage to drown out coil whine on the 5090s![]()
Good to hear! (or not hear in your caseHaha, no coil whine when gaming after initial mental fps loading, and the quietest I've heard...
Sold my 4090 AIO for more than I bought it. I know, go figure?
I don't buy anything worrying about resale value, FE best for that. I buy products I think I will enjoy. Astral LC was still my favourite, high quality build to match performance, but I couldn't stand the 'grinding' pump noise, unfortunately.
Leaving aside coil whine, the FE has a lot of fan noise. Beyond that, it seems a bit of a crapshoot. I've seen no evidence that there is such a thing as a "good brand" for coil whine. Is there a general consensus on which 5090 is the most silent? I can get a 5090FE
I can’t hear my 5090FE at 60% fans with my very humble speakers (pebble pro) at 50% volume, but that’s just meLeaving aside coil whine, the FE has a lot of fan noise. Beyond that, it seems a bit of a crapshoot. I've seen no evidence that there is such a thing as a "good brand" for coil whine.
I disagree. The default FE fan curve is very conservative. The card would rather temps increased instead of the fans ramping up. I thought it would be a lot louder than it is based on the figures from techpowerup. Coil whine is another matter. It's a mess all round on the 5090s.Leaving aside coil whine, the FE has a lot of fan noise. Beyond that, it seems a bit of a crapshoot.
