BMW and M Power Owners

I've been offered an F80 M3, its my mates' mate car, has had new PS4S, OEM Dics, Pads, Full Service, Crankshaft Bearing inspection+new gaskets.

2016 - 64k miles - 4 Owners, I can have it for £25.5k (AT and WEBAC value it at 23.8k), thoughts? I'm not a fan of the colour, I would ideally want San Marino Blue (very sought after, making it hard to find one for decent cash). But, I can't find a similar M3 for similar price cheapest one I saw recently was £26.5k. I was thinking about M4, seeing the prices they're significantly cheaper for some reason?

Seems a bit pricey for 64k miles, the warranty would be quite pricey and from memory the S55 can have some turbo issues.

I can't find a similar M3 for under 26k though? I do agree, it does seem a bit pricey (seeing prices from few months ago :p). I'm torn between M2 and M3, I don't want to spend more than 30k, ideally around 25k mark. My account took a bit of a hit after the M340i purchase. :p

The M4 is more common as it was in production for another 2-3 years. Spec looks ok - it's fairly standard.

Just be aware, if you're taking out the BMW warranty without a discount, at that mileage it'll be something like £4000 per year with a £250 excess, so probably not worth bothering with :p

Definitely worth asking if it's under an annual policy as they can be transferred.

The M4 doesn't have the same curves as the M2 or the M3, the price is tempting me. I just want to try a F series M car, I would most likely sell it beginning of next year or end of this season.

S55 is 'reliable' goes on listing 40 minutes worth of parts that go wrong.

I don't think it is, I asked though.

I know it's done 64k miles so you can't expect perfection, but the interior really does look quite worn to me. Shabby seats, arm rest, handbrake, shiny steering wheel. Maybe a good clean and leather conditioner would liven it up though.

Those steering wheels go very shiny very quickly in my experience, my 530d started to go like that after about 30k miles :D

I started looking at 996 Turbos, would love a 997.2 Turbo, but that's too much money for a weekend toy.. I loved the mineral grey on my M140i, it doesn't suit the F80 M3 IMO.

High mileage 997? They aren't that bad.

If you want the car and you can afford, you should buy it. I drive my weekend car maybe 1500 miles a year at best. Still worth every penny.

Had to stick another runflat on rear right corner.. but for £40 as the other side still has loads of tread.

Question

How do I restore this permanently? Not sure why the colour has gone like this

It's only on the drivers side
