The Sandman (coming to Netflix)

Yeah didn't think it was the best start, got the 2nd and final part of episodes to do. The series started out strong but dunno seemed to lose its way a bit too much. Glad its not renewed and its done and dusted.

I stuck with it all the way to the end and enjoyed it, didn't get bored at all. There wasn't a great deal of action for a comic book series but the story was good and the last section finished the story solidly, leaving no need for a third season.

Also going to buck the trend here and say currently up to Ep 8 and really enjoyed it so far, particularly the Orpheus mini arc. Dark and gothic with a great atmospheric score. Not afraid to pull some strong punches either with
Loki chucking the little baby on the fire at the end of Ep8 though thinking that could be some misdirection there.

Shame it's not getting a third season, unless the studio suits have a change of heart.

They've told the main story. What is missing is the content and additional stories and characters that gave that more context, depth and resonance, but having told the main story, that's it. A third season wouldn't make sense, except as other stories in the same universe, which is sort of what they are doing tomorrow with the final one off story about
as Didi, and her one day on Earth each year as a mortal
I've read the graphic novel a couple of times, and I don't think it has the punch of the main story arc, but The Sound Of Her Wings is one of the greatest stories from the run, and was made into half of one of the best episodes from the first season (and the second half with Hob was also brilliant), so hopefully tomorrows will show more of that fun friend side of her again.

I would have loved it if there had been 3 or even 4 seasons, allowing them to propperly flesh it out and not rush it. But at least we got an ending to make it a complete story. So many sci-fi and fantasy series don't get that opportunity.

Yeah I am watching the last half of the series and maybe I just found it a slow burner early season 2 but its got pretty good towards the end. I would have enjoyed season 3 and more if set with the same tone.

Solid series, close to the good bits of the source material.
See media people, if you just stick to what worked without trying to hack it apart and try to be smart with deconstructing every ounce and let the story tell itself...you get solid work.

But most of the feedback here is how boring it is....

It is slow paced but the comics are much like that too. I think it's a pretty faithful adaptation even if they are skipping a lot of the storylines. I've got a few more to go but season 2 has been pretty consistently good to me. I think Misery was the only Endless I didn't like but it would have been tough to do the comic version.

Land of mine.

Foreign language film, based on the true events of post war German prisoner soldiers, having to remove the 1.3 million land mines that the German army had laid on the beaches of Denmark.

Don't let the fact it's a foreign language film detract from it, as it's not a particularly high dialogue film.

A very emotional film & very unique. The relationship development between the Danish Seargent & the really young end of war, basically German kid soldiers, tasked with removing the mines makes for an excellent watch.

8.5/10
Sir this is a Wendys
