BMW and M Power Owners

I assume you're concerned about depreciation? Definitely go for high mileage on that basis - the majority of the depreciation is done already. Taking a 35k car to 50k in a year is going to be a sting, but taking a 100k car to 115k isn't really going to dent it all that much. People that worry about 100k+ Porsches don't know how to hold screwdrivers. Actually, most Porsche drivers don't generally, but that's another topic entirely.

Nonetheless, it's important to remember that a car is a liability and is pretty much a guaranteed way to part with at least some of your cash. If I recall in recent weeks; weren't you looking at a G20/G30, then an M3, now 996/997 Turbo? These are all drastically different cars - what are you truly looking for?
I bought the G20 M340i for my dad, looking to buy something for myself now. :D

Does anyone else find the recommended tyre pressure too low? On my F11 with 351M wheels it recommends 2.0 front and 2.5 rear. 2.0 in the front seems a little low to me given the size and weight of the car.

Why do BMW dealers get so mix bag reviews locally actually putting me off, but then again VW (which I currently have) reviews for dealer gone down the pan to.

Sytner Stevenage have an F40 M135I that im interested in, but looking at reviews aftersales sound terrible someone left review saying they had a problem with car and had warranty but Sytner wanted £150 for initial investigation despite being under warranty.

Luck of the draw. Very often you have to escalate stuff even just for basic issues. I had to take my car back 3/4 times for an issue with handbrake, which in the end just needed a replacement of a £3 handbrake spring.

General question for those that bought G20s

I may be in a position to have to rid myself of my M2 due to a job change :(
Am I in cuckoo land expecting to find a 320d G20 with adaptive cruise control?

Pretty much, yeah. It's a very, VERY rare option on a G20 as they're mostly low spec company cars.

I can only see one G20 series on the AUC site that has it, and it's a 340d - but the AUC site is useless as even that car mentioned nothing about ACC in the feature list. Also, the AUC site doesn't let you filter by cars having ACC. The only way to spot them is to look for the radar in the grill, and the different icon on the button on the steering wheel.

It isn't as difficult as it was but its probably the least common option.

It was only available with Driving Assistant Professional. Before 2021, this was a standalone option, from 2021 this was part of Technology Package Plus.

Anyone had a key fob replacement? lost one key for X2 and BMW want 380, just wondering any other options out there?

What style fob do you have? I have a spare when my M5 got written off, don’t know how you reprogram it but you can have it for nowt if it’s any good to you

Mine says recommended 37.7psi in the app but I’m absolutely certain that the recommended value in the app has changed as I’m sure it said 35psi previously

It looks similar but a search seems to say fobs aren’t all the same and depends on model and is pre programmed to your VIN

From Bimmer Tech

Can I reprogram a used BMW key fob?

The above activation methods assume you have a new key fob ordered from an authorized BMW dealer or third-party reseller, which was made specifically for your vehicle based on its VIN. These methods will not work with a used key fob, or one intended for use with another vehicle. The majority of key fobs available for sale through online marketplaces such as eBay fall into this category.

To improve vehicle security, your BMW's head unit will only allow activating fobs with one of a predefined list of identifying keys. This list of approved fobs is unique to each vehicle, preventing criminals from pairing other key fobs with your vehicle to gain illegitimate access to it. Reprogramming your vehicle or a used key fob to allow the two to be paired would require overriding key parts of your BMW's anti-theft system, potentially compromising its security.

Like BMW, we recommend only attempting to use key fobs ordered from a BMW dealership or a reputable third-party reseller.

So I folded once I had a test drive yesterday but im very happy now (It was a long day yesterday) I have officially joined the BMW club with an M135i I dont think photos do it justice or most BMW tbh so much better in person.

Slight issues I have had is auto hold on my old VW Golf seemed to act better with not having to press the brake down so much to engage, and second one I went to fill up using some Momentum 99 at Tesco I put it in started pressing the trigger on the fuel nozzle and it kept clicking pretty much straightaway I had to press not fully to fill up?

Try moving the nozzle around in various different orientations or not pushing it in as far. The vapours probably aren't escaping.

Also try a completely different petrol station.

I posted on the owners club on Facebook and they said you have to angle it 90 degrees to the left or right and it all good.
