*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

All those 2.5HD games look the same to me.
Yeah I've not really been a fan of it, but Adventures of Elliot is at least a bit different where the environment is more on the 3D side than with the Octopath games.

And yeah, 95% of Nintendo directs are garbage or at least of no interest to most people. This has been the case for god knows how long.
I feel people just set their expectations way too high, the purpose of these things is just marketing and to update on upcoming games, not specifically for high profile announcements.

I don't think I've ever seen a garbage Direct, or State of Play, or Xbox Showcase. I always find it interesting seeing new games, even if they're often not what I want to play personally.

Disappointing, with the Switch 2 being a decently spec machine, I was wondering if we were going to see a turnaround in 3rd party output after the success of the Switch 1 but we really didn't see anything above the support we expected of the Switch 1, it just seems business as usual.

Do we even have a date for FF7?

It makes sense, Switch 2 has just come out so devs are still working on releasing for both platforms.

Nothing from SE apart from their new line ups.

An excellent game. Still holds up brilliantly IMO. One of my favourite games of all time though so perhaps I am biased.

Agreed this has been going on for ages. Nothing new.

I'm finding the Elliot demo quite enjoyable. It's a bit Zelda-esque but more emphasis on combat, even came across a couple of shrines lol.

I like the environments and effects, feels nice to play, decent challenge on hard without being frustrating. Found some optional areas and defeated an optional boss, got an interesting reward for it. My only complaint is the fairy is a bit chatty .

Just picked up this in Canada, worked out to be £130. Appears to be a rebranded Lexor.

Considering I was about to pay £94 for a 512GB card, this is a very good deal. Hopefully, it'll be reliable!

Sounds like a decent deal, I was happy with the 256GB one I picked up for £34, which this seems to be equivalent value to.

That said I do hope prices come down a bit over the next year through volume sales.

Thought the Direct was pretty poor; feel like there's a lot of 3rd party stuff that was heavily, heavily rumoured (to the point it all seemed like 100% nailed on) like the Microsoft stuff and even stuff like Rainbow 6 Siege and other UbiSoft Stuff that we've never heard of since launch.

The Elliot (terrible name) game looks decent as it's not turn based, as others have said it could be Zelda-esque. No interest in any of the others shown though.

It’s called The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales and agreed it looks pretty good doesn’t it. I don’t mind turn based RPG’s but it’s nice that it’s more like an old school Zelda type adventure. Voice acting is a bit cringe though! As it’s made by Team Asano of Bravely Default and the Octopath games hopefully we can switch to Japanese VA.

Yep, you can change to Japanese VO.

There's also a fidelity graphics setting you can change to, makes things look cleaner and effects look better, I mostly stuck to performance mode though.

No idea if I'll end up buying it next year, but enjoyed the demo more than I thought I would.

I just meant that it’s an action adventure rather than a turn based one a la those that you mentioned. Secret of Mana is one of my all time favourites.
