5 best looking aeroplanes

When I was an air cadet I went to an airshow at a Vulcan station and they scrambled 4 very noisy Vulcans one after the other. Very impressive.

Not a good looking plane, but an interesting one.
I came across it from a baldandbankrupt youtube video.

The KM ( Korabl Maket.). A Russian sea plane from the cold war era. I believe now known as the caspian sea monster.
Seemingly it's the 2nd largest plane ever built.

Proper name - an Ekranoplan.

I can’t seem to get past 1945

Needs no introduction

Often cited as best looking plane of ww2.

All the better for being blue, of questionable parentage and from bodney

An odd ball inclusion that would melt the pilots quite literally

An absolute beast and a beauty

In the 70's/80's I used to live near an airfield that fairly regularly had Vulcans taking off and landing, I think they used to do practise drills with it being the height of the Cold War, we'd hear that loud and eerie nuclear attack alarm warning sound from time to time with a symphony of jets engines and sometimes see a Vulcan, they used to look majestic in the air with the shape of the wings and I recall they looked to me to be going too slow to stay in the air.

Amazing plane with unique capabilities, but no way would that off-centre gun and nose wheel be allowed on my watch. Nobody goes home until that thing is symmetrical!

“Check out this massive cannon I’ve designed a plane around!”
“Where are you putting the nose gear?”
“Erm… just over here somewhere, it’ll be fine…”

Seen her (XH558) at a few Cosford Airshows and during ground stops at Cosford whilst waiting for her to fly through the overhead before I could get airborne myself.

My name is on a brass plaque on the under sider of her port wing - a Father's Day 2020 gift from my girls.
