WEED KILLER

I miss the days of sodium chlorate kill any weed and £2.50 for 1kg tub great for paths/drives , though down side it would kill everything including the user :p

how did you get on with your marestail? Which product did you end up sticking with?
Glyphosate works fine if combined with some of this:

All dead within 2 weeks using Triclopyr. With the bonus it doesn't kill stuff like grass so you can spray your lawn, unlike the suggestion above which would kill everything.
Triclopyr kills brambles and similar as well.

That's what I use. It's expensive but it does the job and works in a week.

Looking for recommendations on a good weed killer that wont kill grass

I've already got a good strong one "Rootblast" that literally kills everything but needing something to sort of the grass areas. Its a rental property so doing a lawn refresh isnt in the budget, i just want it to look a bit better.

I need this too

I've got weeds everywhere but I need something that won't kill grass or plants. The stuff I've got now kills everything

I've also got moss growing on paved areas and fences, and I need something that kills moss only, the stuff I've got now kills the moss dead but it all kills everything it touches due to it containing bleach

Best stuff for Marestail is Ammonium Sulphamate Crystals. Kills it dead within a few days. Usually stays dead till the following year, where it sprouts up in another location.

Clearly not the best then?

Glyphosate plus the additive above works fine - takes a couple of weeks before anything happens, but seems to kill it back much further to the roots/rhizomes so it doesn't come back at all (or if it does, then far less of it)

You'll have a hard time getting rid of mares tail... Their roots can be upto 2m deep and their structure makes it hard for weedkiller to be absorbed :(
Repeated dosing with glyphosate worked for me but it needs more than one go

The Vitax weed and feed has arrived, so now got the sprinkler going for a couple of hours then will give it a go.
It can't be any worse than the hopeless greenforce I've already tried (although it did kill some moss).
I'm aiming to get rid of this stuff, whatever it is?..

Purple flowers? Looks like selfheal (prunella vulgaris)

As I said a couple of posts up Triclopyr doesn't kill grass and kills mares tail.
For moss Iron Sulphate.

Did you mix it with a bit of sugar -Have to say I am lucky to be here. You don't think it's dangerous when you are a kid.

I tried Greenforce and Westland weed and feed. Still have some broad leaf weeds, a few different types.

Any more suggestions?
Stop looking at different brands and focus on the active ingredients you require. Either Glyphosate or Triclopyr will deal with almost anything.

They're different chemicals not just different brands...

I have Glyphos but it killed my lawn once already.

I will tri the triclopyr.

Brands also help because it makes it easier to search for. I tried 2-4-d earlier and came up with not much, on Amazon at least.

Have a look on Green-care instead e.g.
