Apparently at the event last week people were grouped and joining games in bigger squads and it was auto-splitting them into squads - but unsure on if that's going to be in the actual game or whether it was just for the preview.
Downloaded today in preparation to give the open beta a try this weekend. Thought I'd get all the settings sorted.
Can't bind anything to Middle Mouse, Mouse 4 or Mouse 5. Got to be a bug or oversight, surely? No way a 2025 PC game is not letting you bind to what are now fairly ubiquitous extra buttons any any gaming mouse?
This is with a Logitech G502 btw. I already use Logitech Gaming Software to bind some of the less standard buttons it has to keyboard keys, but I don't see why I should need to do that for Middle Mouse. Anyone else noticing the same or have I missed something?

Yeah that threw me too. It doesn't actually label the columns so I assumed the 2nd one was the alternative input.

IIRC, I had to do this with Valorant, it's for the anticheat, did not cause me any issues.....

Had to do this with BF 2042 - Hasn’t caused me any issues, touch wood!
Have had it Enabled for months now.
All cross-play games have these settings for controller users, I assume it’s for Controller Input only but we will see?
I’m guessing you can turn off cross-play if you want, but I play 2042 with it on, and most lobbies consist of 98% PC players anyway.
I imagine if on PC with Controller Input you will end up mostly with the same Input Method / Mainly Consoles.

this is a killer for me. most people play in groups of say discord and often its bigger than 4. such stupid move.
Also... if you're playing BF on PC with mouse and keyboard and you're losing to a bloke sat on his sofa, playing BF on a controller using his thumbs then aim assist is the least of your worries.
Glad it's not just me. I expected the same as you, just alternative inputs. Must be getting old.
I play all my co-op games with a group of players but to be honest, its actually pretty rare that we reliably get more than 4 of us online at the same time, 4 is probably fine for us
