The Naked Gun (2025)

I went and seen it yesterday. I thought it was pretty good and had a lot of funny moments throughout and the classic its so stupid its funny stuff too.

There was a couple of stuff that I didn’t get - mainly because of it being a more on the US culture stuff but it certainly got people around me laughing.

Worth a watch if you do like the originals.

When we watched it half the cinema were in total hysterics and half looked like they wanted to walk out.

I don't think a lot people were ready for this sort of humour again.

I must say I was surprised to see Rotten Tomatoes have given it 90%, that's extremely high praise. That said, these type of movies are decent fun when they eventually get onto tv but me personally I wouldn't go to the cinema to see it.

I went to see the original Naked Gun at the cinema when it came out. People including myself were doubled up, some in the aisles. The window ledge scene, with the 'statue', the cinema was erupting. The original Naked gun, inc Hot shots and Top secret, were relentless in the gags, they just kept coming one after the other.

The window ledge scene, with the 'statue'

I am chuckling just reading this, which just goes to show to impact the original Police Squad! and Naked Gun had. :)

I've mentioned it before but when my dad took me to see The Life of Brian at the cinema, with Monty Python being my main comedy interest in those days, neither of us realised it was actually a double feature with Airplane being show before LoB. So you can imagine we were virtually worn out by the time Brian made an appearance, and after that totally wrecked.

Finally got round to seeing The Naked Gun. Thought it was very ok. Not as awful as i thought but not as good as reviews either. Very 5/10

I agree with this 5/10, but even then maybe ik being generous as I like Liam Neeson and the original naked guns so want to be nice to it.

The trailer ruins for the first 10 minutes of the film. None of the jokes are funny. About midway it picked up and i heard the first audience laugh at this point. And then the end got bad again.

I'm very glad it was just 1 hour and 25 minutes long.

To me its on par with the originals...

Airplane
Top secret
Hot shots
Obviously it's namesake.

Liam and Pamela..... Who would have thunk it.
I'd agree with this. Very much in line with the 80s movies. With comedy being tough to nail in general, I thought they did an amazing job matching the originals and bringing it to the modern day.
