LG OLED 2024 thread - A4, B4, C4, G4

Absolutely makes sense. I think I just assumed the wireless model would be the super shiniest fancy features one. But it's more of a specific improvement.

The other fancy features are odd anyway - does anyone want or need a transparent TV or one that rolls up?

You would think the G4 and M4 would get a nicer remote but no. 4 grand doesn't cover it ha.

Having the TV on the wall has made my setup so much cleaner. I'm really enjoying the clean look, love that the TV is kinda floating now.

Hoping the LG C6 42-48" next year can bring some of that update OLED tech to the small size even if the hardware is limited, otherwise am happy with my LG C2.

So…I am tempted to be ridiculous and get a g4 65 in for my 40th. Question is…am I shooting myself in the foot over getting this (if I find one) over the 55 g5?

or wait a year for the G5 to be the one on heavily discounted price.

side by side with challenging content the G5 looks noticably nicer to my eye anyway

A Panasonic 50” cx680b bought in 2015 :p
Haha. Any decent OLED will blow your socks off in that case. I'd just grab the G4 on sale. The positive over the G5 is that it'll decode DTS audio.

£1500 is the going rate if you can find one.

Go for it! 55 would be too close to what you have now if you want maximum impact!

How far do you sit.

IT’s absolutely a room on the smaller size reckon we’re about 2 metres away. We have a four square kallax unit across the window and the tv will go there. It’ll blot out the sun :D

Heh, we’ll see. I have permission, but yeah - don’t want it to look stupid
I picked up a cheap projector from AliExpress recently for £30, could be a good way to get a feel if 65" is too big or not.

Think it boils down to what you're watching too right.

IIRC it's only the biggest (97"?) M4 which gets the Premium remote (PM24GN), once I found that out I knew to never expect any G-series model to get it!

Even then it's not that desirable. Sharp edges, overly long and overall lacklustre design. If it were great I'd just pick one up separately.

Yeah, and still no media controls, bizarre omission given everyone uses streaming apps.

I'm hoping to pick up an MR25GA when the generic versions start appearing on Amazon, eBay etc. Should work fine with the 2024 models and at least does away with the numpad.
